I have an appointment tomorrow morning, so I will make sure to post a follow-up. Not sure what's going to happen, but there's other things that they have to fix with the car, anyway, so if it's going to be there for a few days...it's all good. I just hope that they can get it resolved, and don't give me the hassles that everyone else seems to be having. Otherwise, I will tell them to call Mastro Subaru, in Florida, for a confirmation of this issue!!! hehe..hopefully Opie will pick up...though I am sure I have read your real name, I cannot guess what it is!! Thanks for this info. though...as I have mentioned many a time...and hopefully, it comes to a resolve.

I hear ya there, but I usually get a discount at the local subie dealer for mine...usually comes out to about 9 bucks including the crush washer. Who knew those darned little things were so expensive! Maybe a fumoto valve is in order...so I don't have to replace those stupid things anymore. As far as the filter...well, I guess it's easier just to get a subie one, that way, if something 'does' go wrong, at least it's an OEM version. Guess it also helps their business some...regardless.

I have been using ssubie filters for as long as I have owned my WRX and now LGT...and would not see any realworld 'benefit' from changing to a different brand, unless it was 'proven' to be better. I change the oil often enough, that it's not a concern...never had a gummed up turbo, or internals that weren't working correctly. Heck, never even had a CEL...except for an P0440 code, on the WRX 2 days after I bought it...all becuase of crappy gas from the dealers!!! Oh well, though...prove it, and someone might still try it.

YEAH!!! Now, I can get this stupid thing fixed....I have been 'dealing' with it, but it's SOOO freaking irritating. Let's hope that the 'fix' does something for us...otherwise, it will be useless, and cause some downtime for no reason. i.
