  1. I'm pretty sure we moved the neutral and reverse switches from my 5MT into my 6MT during the swap. But it was a log time ago so I'm not 100% sure.

I searched the thread and found something I wrote about moving the netural switch, but I didn't mention the reverse switch. I think they're on the same harness though and we just moved it all from one trans to the other.

I think I did the same based on that old post that you found. I figure I'm at about 3k miles since I out my spec B trans in. Everything is still working great with no problems. Drove it all this week which I haven't done in awhile and remembered why I like this car so much.

  2. :) and how many wheel bearing sets?:hide:

    Looks killer man.

I've actually only done each corner once in the last 6 years and 55k miles of owning it.
the usual rate...new set every month driven?
That would require driving it. It's sat for the post part since May of 2018 shortly after I put in the 6 speed. I haven't been home much to get out and drive it.

  3. Beautiful. Only car I've ever seen those wheels look good on.
They are such a good wheel and I'm so happy with them. Had to raise the car quite a bit as they rubbed at first when I put them on since I went with a 255/35 tire.
Nice work! So, what's next :hide: ?
I still haven't gotten around to doing the upper interior black so next time I'm home from work that's on the list to do. I'll also be getting the front end wrapped in protective vinyl and then ceramic coat the whole car and then just drive it and enjoy it.

  4. Forgot to post here but the car is all painted and looks fantastic. I'm back at work again though so it's sitting on a battery tender in my garage now. I also bought a house with a shop while I was home so no more storage unit and parking stuff at my parents place. f3447e016f231d63913218a202461e8a.jpge563c6c78071489b3394f178da922301.jpg225828e597a1b94e4d0d2629848ed2bb.jpg37bf19a88d9335379deb58c273a8c229.jpg

  5. Sorry to bump this thread, but to Gunnar - Did you have to roll the fenders to fit the 235/40/18s with the old H&R springs you had on? Looks like you've gone through a couple suspension revisions since, but I was curious since that's the route I'm planning to take on my car if they can fit with my H&Rs and Konis.

I did have to roll the fronts as they would rub every once and awhile especially when driving spiritedly.

Also, the car is at the body shop currently getting painted so I should be able to pick it up in 4 weeks when I'm home at the end of the month!

  6. Cars still sitting in storage in the same spot it's been since I parked it last year around this time. At one point my friend went and pulled the exhaust to put in a new resonator as while j was in school is drug it across every speed bump on campus and it had some holes in it so he put a new one in. No idea how it sounds yet but I will get to hear it in March. Going to be home for hopefully a couple months. Plan is to get my parents to load it up and take it to the body shop shortly to get it painted so I can pick it up right when I get home and finish up the interior. Worked a ton this past year and the truck is now paid off and I've set aside a good amount so hopefully this year will see the Legacy getting its own garage and not a storage unit.
  7. Wow you've been busy! Been away for awhile now and wow I've missed a ton! Looking like I will be back home in mid March for a little while. Might have to look through all the parts you've made and make a list! I'll shoot you an email sometime over the next few days. Keep up the good work!
  8. with 05-07 you have to rewire under dash and out too lamps. lots of risks in do it and pretty complicated from what was shared with me by the folks that did it. no clue about 08-09.
That is a way to do it, but your stock switch has 3 positions, off, parking lights, and low beams. If you wire in the "swoop" light of the facelift lights to the parking light you have control via the switch and then can then just unplug the DRL plug under the dash. Having a manual car in the event I stall it I'd rather have the ability to turn all the lights off before restarting the car in to save bulbs from the voltage surge during start.
  9. noticed that the B and C black pillars don't have the top airbag hole. are you planning to cut holes for them? i had to buy mine from europe to get the ones with holes.
Probably won't cut holes I'll probably find a way for the airbag to be secure behind the pillar without it showing through via the hole that the factory pillars have
  10. I think in order to not have the highbeams come on as DRL you have to redo wiring under the dash. I have had my high beams disabled since I got my car but since it's an 05 it was easy to just unplug the harness. I know with 08's you have to cut a wire. That's probably your best bet and then set up that white led to come on with the parking lights.
  11. Unpopular (and worthless opinion) I think I like your other bumper better. I like the sqaured off look it has with the lip. Not really a fan of the "wings" on the side. If the middle was filled in, it would be no contest though.
I actually prefer the lower half of the other bumper as well. There's an Australian that molded the top half of a facelift bumper together with the bottom half of a prefacelift bumper. He parted out his sedan and I actually offered to buy and ship his bumper to the States but he'd never give me a shipping quote and then I found out he'd bought a wagon and was putting it on there. 8b7b9a5584e7ee90742eeaa7e451936e.jpg
  12. are those the S402 fenders?
Nope. Like WRX USA said the S402 ones have the fake vent that is just for looks.
This is rad. Glad to see you were able to get the front end all swapped. Did you get the MD2S in the headlights?
Yup. Forgot to adjust them so they are pretty much pointed at the ground though. Oh well. They put out fantastic out put though.
Do you store your car in a shipping container?
Yup. The storage place has a bunch of 40' containers that they put a wall in the middle of. The one I'm in is divided into a 30' side and 10' side. I've got the 30' side so I've got a bunch of spare parts in there as well as my motorcycle and still there's quite a bit of room inside the box.
