Thanks for all the replies. I get it...it would be better to go OEM. I get that it the chinese keyless entry may not last. I just don't see how it would hurt the OEM wiring. I clearly don't know what I'm doing so I'll listen to opinions for sure. Anyhow. Can someone confirm or direct me to how to program a used OEM keyfob myself? I was told by several people dealer only. THANK YOU!!!

Hi thanks. Sorry...vacation pics? Yeah its an odd one it's a Limited so obviously had pwr locks and keyless. Only got one grey valet key with no buttons. So i'm just looking to save some $ that I don't have to get the aftermarket system to activate the factory power locks.

Hi Bought a cheap Amazon keyless entry system. I've installed stereos and am ok with wiring but since this is a universal system I'm having a hard time figuring out where to connect the wires to the cars factory power lock wiring. Anyone have a write up for an alarm/ keyless entry / remote start install on a 5th gen Legacy? I've spent way too long searching already. Does anyone know if the lock motor is in the drivers door? Color Codes? Where should I Tap into? I can figure out the 12V and ground. I guess I need to know the "UP" wire (unlock maybe?), the "DOWN wire" (lock?) and the Common line. Thx a million!

Think that would disengage/engage the alarm since it's just locking and unlocking? Any clue how hard it would be to install? Thanks!

Hi 2010 Legacy. Only have grey valet key with no buttons...no fobs. When I lock the doors from the inside and hold the handle and close the door. The parking lights flash once as if setting the alarm. Then when the door is unlocked the alarm goes off until key goes into ignition. 2 questions. Is there a way to lock and unlock without triggering alarm? Secondly whats the cheapest way to get 1 or 2 fobs? Ebay blank keyfob with key? Are they self program or dealer required? Or can i do like an aftermarket alarm or keyless entry system to the car? Thanks!!!!
