These were mine when I replaced them. The misfires were so bad it felt like I was skipping teeth on bicycle gears, was afraid I wouldn't make it to my destination.

 

 

They are so bad I was thinking they looked Canadian, NY is the lower east Ontario!

Haha yeah, it's just funny how it decided to remove itself from the battery terminal seemingly overnight. It was still down tight as well.

I had a bunch of things to do yesterday so I was suddenly in a tiny panic, because nothing would have got done otherwise. Everything did get done, just a couple hours later on.

Solved! I'm an idiot and didn't pop the hood. Well the main power wire to the starter popped off the positive battery terminal. I bought new copper ends to solder on because I thought they were a bit short.

A bit of solder and fire and we are all good!

So of course it's a Sunday and nothing is open.

Long story short, my 08 spec b was running fine yesterday and when I got home I added another remote to the car using the lock and unlock method on the door. It took quite a few tries but I got it to finally program.

Well in one of those rounds I believe I activated the immobilizer, nothing else changed. If I try to crank the car with any key I have I get absolutely nothing past the ON position. The cooling fans are on (which is weird) and so I checked the green test connectors, nope not connected. I check on my accessport in case my coolant temp sensor is shot. Nope reading normal at 52 right now which is pretty much the outside temp.

I'm thinking of disconnecting the battery for a few minutes but I don't want to do that yet if it's an easy fix.

Any help would be appreciated!!

My old Cobb sts buzzed all the damn time, no matter what I did new bushings, lubed everything up I even installed a brand new shifter basket. This was in 3-5 on a 5 spd.

I sold it and went back to stock. The noise instantly went away and driving is so much more peaceful

Finally got the next datalog off to dave @cryotune, my car has been locked in at my work for weeks!

Can't wait for the next step. It's already been feeling great so far

now in the right section...

I've been amassing a large amount of detailing products and tools over the years, lots of different products too.

When it comes down to it all paint is SLIGHTLY different, I'd love to hear what colour your car is and what have you found that works best for you.

I've been removing scratches and swirls on my DGM 08 Spec B with my DA polisher and Meguiars Ultimate Compound and have had great results so far.

I haven't touched my 05 SWP GT's paint though but will be doing in the coming weeks.

For tires/rubber and plastics VRP from Chemical Guys has been great because it doesn't come out too shiny and it does last quite well.

I'm also looking into getting into ceramic coatings, I will do both my cars this summer but want to hear your experiences with different ones.

On the manufactures websites of course all the "reviews" are great for all the ceramic coatings.

Lots of us are stuck at home so we might as well make our cars beautiful in the time we have!

So legacy #3 made it home last night unscathed and the tow truck driver dropped the flatbed right on to the edge of my garage so it just rolled off and in. P.O. even covered the 1.5 hour tow to my house! Big thanks to @tysparks81 for the help last night. The battery was completely flat so onto the charger it went. I cleaned out the car of TONS of garbage and crap the guy left in it. Including 3 pairs of shorts... EW

Positive news I ended up with bunch of extra sockets, a few bucks in change, a new grinding wheel disc, a 12' circular saw blade and a 25' stanley measuring tape. Not bad!

I decided to get tysparks to check the oil, none... so we added oil in it and prayed...

Fast forward to this morning, well the oil is still in the engine, so I might as well give it a crank and see what happens. It's knocking like an angry portugese mom trying to get in the front door of a locked house. It's shut down right away, oh well part out it is.

I'll make money parting it out, for $650 I got a 2007 Legacy 2.5i premium, that I can take a bunch of the parts as backups for the spec b (both DGM) and this has much less rust on the doors than the B. It has 18" Enkei EKM3 wheels with good Kumho tires, cleared headlights with HID's badly installed, somewhat nicely tinted tail lights, and what looks like a good set of Alpine speakers installed. Apparently the clutch was just done too. So I may pull the tranny and see what that looks like and sell each of them off too.

The adventure starts tomorrow, what else is "quarantine" good for anyways!

Well the one thing neither of you have mentioned here, control arm bushings. If one arm has a more worn bushing on one side than the other and you hit a bump it can throw the alignment off just a touch that you can only feel at higher speeds. If you get the car off of the ground and give the lower control arms a "pull" with a long pry bar see if there is any difference between each side.

I had this a few years ago on my 05 Legacy GT, I swapped out the main bushings for Energy suspension poly bushings and it tightened up the front end perfectly. Of course you will need an alignment after!

I'd also do a good check on steering rack play and inner and outer tie rods too.

Maintenance first, when were your plugs last changed?

Cabin air filter? probably forgot about that... not necessarily performance but another thing to change and keep your car in great shape and not stinky.

As stated above, downpipe, get a catted one, catless you won't notice a difference and it's better for everyone.

Lots of members say and I agree with them, it's all in the tune. Get an accessport and speak with Dave from Cryotune Performance, even just a simple tune from him your car will run better, have more power, and of all things get better mileage!

Parts car or are you planning on driving it?

Well... I bought it because the body is in amazing shape for a 2007, up here in Ontario it is rare that there is almost no rust at all. The passenger fender is silver while the car is DGM. It looks like it got a small fender bender and that was just swapped one. I bought it as a parts car to swap the doors with my spec b and then see how it looks.

The owner said he had a problem with the engine but doesn't know what it is. If I get it running smooth, I may keep it as a winter beater, its a non-gt so it'll save me a bunch on fuel if that happens. Otherwise I'll do a super fast part out on it and scrap the shell.

A huge positive it comes with 17" or 18" Enkei wheels (maybe reps) and with good tires on them. I should have full news Saturday night of it's condition.

Bonus, the guy is even towing it to my house, over an hour and a half drive away!

Agreed, looks like he found the culprit, big thanks. I'll call up my dealership now, I know these will need to be ordered.

Alright who else has this window scratch and if you did/do how have you fixed it?

Both my 05 and 08 has it, it's on the inside of the drivers side window and it seems like something was screwed up in the design of the inner panel to do it.

IHI VF-46 with very minimal shaft play, was running without issue. Swapped out for a JMP build.

Unsure of milage since it came with the car.

Easy, put a blown fuse in it's place, easy to fix for any inspection and if you're pulled over for it well you can show that it wasn't "purposefully disabled"

Well, I've actually still have been productive. Cleaned out the garage today and filled my garbage bin that'll be picked up this week. Sorted out a ton of parts from swaps that are now for sale locally, and I got a buyer for the spec b oem suspension in minutes. I blacked out the grill on the B and have primed and painted the front lip tysparks81 gave me, it's now a satin black and should look great on the car, hopefully installation happens tomorrow.

I built a list for the spec B on what needs doing/done, I may just do a log on here as well

It's so worth it, they have some great sales as well. It just took about 3 weeks longer to get here than was the original delivery date.

They do not send with tracking numbers! It's done that way for cost savings. The customer service is top notch though and they reply to emails quickly.

Finally got around to finishing up the Redline goods ebrake boot install, I did the shifter a few months ago, but I wanted the interior plastics to warm up a bit before I gave that stuff a hard tug. The old ebrake boot was nasty and cracking too.

I also installed my auto dimming rear view mirror and dash cam into the spec b. Tons more on the list to go, but the car is coming together!

Where are the grounds located?

bottom side of each head, oem wires are braided and corrode easily, if they aren't there that's a problem
