  1. All good. after we found a hose that popped loose, zip-tied it. installed new 3-port boost unit. reflashed to new map, reset ECU. still throwing same P0170 running lean for days.

went back to shop, we immediately saw another hose / wastegate, had popped off. no ways we would both have missed that the first time. my guess  is that it hap'd after we installed the 3-port. more boost? anyway we fixed that, reset ECU.

idle is finally stabilized (since I bought the car, really...) CEL is gone, crazy amount of power and dare I say it the thing is almost too fast for my taste. it's way more speed than is even useable on the street, at least, in the crappy crowded boring roads of Miami...

i think the car is officially bonkers now. sounds like chirping parakeets and goes like a rocket. just, no stickers rims bumpers flames etc  three more datalogs today, finally moving on to next tune map...

and this is exactly what im afraid off, if any mechanical issue arises, then like u i could become stuck with no tune and loss of the money if i dont fix it in 30 days!
  2. I think Bren Tuning knows what they're doing, but I would only recommend an e-tune with anyone if your car has no CELs or mechanical issues which could affect the tune progress. Right now after 3 maps from Bren my car is still throwing a Fuel Bank 1 running lean CEL so tuner isn't reading any of my datalogs or sending any new maps. Meanwhile after 30 days, my e-tune 'contract' runs out

The tuner says it's not his map, it's a mechanical issue.

The local (very professional) Subie shop says the car checks out, it's probably the tune causing it.

So I'm stuck in no man's land & it's starting to get aggravating

the first two maps Bren Tuning sent made a huge difference, was running better already but he paused tuning til I tracked down a mechanical issue.

he was right. a hose from the intake had popped off and was leaking bad. also upgraded from OEM 2-port to Cobb 3-port boost solenoid so I'm kinda 'starting over' now, even though I've already seen significant improvements.

    so far so good

leet me know what are your results with brent tuning, because im tempted on going with an stage 2 e-tune from him on my spec b :)
  4. I know Rodrigo & Juan they work on my car. They book for Mike Botti who flies down from up north to do Subie tunes once every month or two. For this next trip, he's already fully booked

First thing though I want to go back to a catted downpipe. As per Cobb, their OTS tunes require catted. I want performance but above all I want the motor not to explode or quit

Not sure but believe Rodrigo from WRXexperts in Miami does Accessport tunes . They tuned by brothers Subie and says they really did a great job with the tune.
  5. I was driving my Lego. SWP '06 with '05 headlights, yellow fogs, and lowered.

How many Legacy's are around the Dade area?

No idea but they're so rare that I jump in my seat when I see one. Yesterday I saw a LegGT wagon turning left off of N. Miami Ave, somewhere around 70 or 80th, it happened too fast for me to give a goofy WAVE or HI or LOOK OVER HERE

Last night saw my first 2015 STi, cruising up 95N - it was too damn quiet and that wing is too damn huge and the car is too damn boring, but after shadowing him for 8 min. it kinda grew on me  typical WRX lifecycle

  6. Who was driving the blacked out '08-09 yesterday on Biscayne in Midtown? We waved immediately, so I figured it was someone on here. It had halos on.

It was...almost me :) that is I just put in h7 halogens, and refurbd my black '05 GT wagon headlights, and I'm constantly on biscayne

    What were you driving??

  7. Well you have I 95 which is a battlefield . Yes you are right , In South Fla there are no real places to drive in a spirited manner.

I have seen more crazy s*** on I95 between 195 and Miami Gardens drive than I can scarcely believe. Ladders. Garbage trucks contents flinging open. A fusion with its rear bumper hanging out the back SEAT into traffic. Wipeouts. Accidents. People happily going 30mph. Packs of bikes loud and fast enough to be mistaken for Air Force. Camrys weaving at 95mph. Today I saw a lowered customized Jetta etc etc with two bikes on the roof, one about to fall off...

The road quality is appalling. The small 'bridge' overpasses puts the line of sight right into the lights of oncoming traffic and road lights, over and over...

It's not fun, or good adventure. It's a super tense battlefield, until you get past Ft Laud, or more
