  1. Today on I-95 around mm 115 St Lucie county around 4:00 pm I had the most unreal experience for Florida.

Side by side three lanes across a WRX left lane, a Crosstrek center lane, my Legacy right lane and a BRZ behind the WRX. This side by side lasted about 15 To 20 seconds as the heavy traffic forced me back.

    Totally unreal

Its all part of Subaru global takeover! Well, maybe just USA

That's an unusual sight indeed. I'm always lookin out for Subies down here in Miami. I find a lot of new-riding WRX bros have no clue or just don't care what an LGT wagon is...

  2. Mildly constructive: Probably a better idea to go post somewhere more relevant. I.e.- the 4th gen or interior sub-forums. This thread is about hooked up wagons, not seats. :)

More constructive: A few have done it with older STi seats, it requires some work arounds to trick the airbag system etc. Look up member scooby2.5. He has STi seats in his wagon(if he still owns it).

    Thanks! Heading over there.

  3. So much butthurt on both sides  . DadSled, this would probably get a more constructive response in the wheels & tires forum. This thread is intended for whoring out sweet photos of your car in return for a bunch of 'thanks' at the bottom of the post.

Or, if you don't want to go through the body mangling and suspension overhaul, take BoozeRS05's Option #1. It's works and still looks great - you only miss out on camber and the concave wheels.

This is my car with -2.7 deg front, -2.1 deg rear. 18x8.5 +35 wheels with 225/40R18 Direzza ZII (wider than most 225's).

    Your ride looks sweet!!!

First off thanks for the useful info, yeah I came to the wrong place. Who knew?

I don't wanna go through alla that, I plan to go with BoozeRS05's Option #1 Sell the wheels for an 18x8 +48 setup and keep the tires, then get koni struts and some sport springs, and install everything. Get a JDM rear sway bar. Great DD setup.

by the way does he mean koni shocks? I already have Hotchkis sways front & rear

  4. You have to set the goals here, make your own path buddy. You've got stretched tires on a oversized cheap wheel setup with a worn suspension.

    Options:

-Sell the wheels for an 18x8 +48 setup and keep the tires, then get koni struts and some sport springs, and install everything. Get a JDM rear sway bar. Great DD setup.

-You could also get coilovers, slam, roll, pull and camber the f*** out of that thing. Start vaping.

    Sweet, I like option #2

  5. Dude, if you're not trolling and would like to be taken seriously, start reading the sub-forums sticky's. All the dumb ass questions you're asking have been covered since 2007.

not trolling and I hear your internet-will-answer-your-questions perspective, but I don't necessarily have eighteen f***** hours to find the needle in the haystack. diagnose my own stupid problem, find the possible answers, parse through everything, and decide on my own what I happen to think is the * right * answer. and then make some more simple mistakes.

"here noob, see this link" is that so flipping hard. nothing makes me want to go lease a beigemobile and forget this modding more than people who relate to this as another cool-kids clique

    have a great evening.

  6. The OP didn't answer your questions, but I will give my 2cents. I have 2 friends with 2nd Gen CTS-V. One is an auto and one 6MT. I have driven the 6MT. I was surprise that at least in stock form how well they hook in 1st gear, base on my experience with other (i.e. older high) power/RWD vehicle. Both of my friends paid $40-50K for their used CTS-V. My friend average in the teens for fuel economy, plus he goes through rear tires relatively quickly.

The issue with CTS-V and todays fast factory muscle cars is that you can really only go WOT on the street for short bursts. To drive a car like those hard is suicide.

The issues with the V are -

    > avg 9mpg. Occassionally 10. T - E - N. (granted in my LGT I avg only 13 :)

    > monthly payment is a lot vs Subie is PAID OFF. Z - E - R - O.

    > insurance is $2K / yr vs Subie, reasonable

    > goes through rear tires like kleenex vs Subie, reasonable wear life depending how you drive

    > WAY more power than can possibly use near where I live, whereas the Subie can use 8/10 or 9/10 of its ability much more of the time. way more accessible

    > the V's rear visibility and high door sills make seeing out of it a pain in the ass. Subie has miles of glass all around and lower door sills, easy, don't need a camera

    > payment gas insurance = $$$$$$$

I could start listing other things about the LGT I love more than the V, but question was about the drawbacks of the V...

btw I think 'suicide' is pushing it a bit far, but yes you are courting danger way more quickly in a huge power, RWD car than a lighter weight AWD car

  7. Last year around xmas my BIL got a new Audi S7 and he wouldn't let anyone touch it. Well 1 year later he let a few of us give it a try and I have to say the V8 Twin turbo with the dual clutch is amazing...hit triple digits in no time flat and it didn't even feel like I was giving the car a workout yet.

Nice car to dream about, but doubt it would ever fit into my budget!

But I NEED to feel I'm giving my car a workout, constantly! This is one of the reasons I'm regretting the V wagon purchase.

  8. I bought a CTS V wagon to replace my beloved LGT wagon.

    However.

Besides that the V is soooo damn expensive to have around and the Subie is paid off, the Subie is also just more fun. Yes in a straight line, on big roads with lots of room etc etc the V is way more "car." nicer quieter cabin leather luxury etc etc But for the kind of fling it around driving I do, on small local roads, I actually prefer the Subie in so many ways. The V is a fire breathing dragon I rarely can use its power. Now I'm selling the V. Crazy / stupid I know. Anyone else had a similar experience and just .. came home to mama (Subaru)?

  9. Damn the level of knowledge is freakin impressive.

I'm not looking to go lower. Don't want stiff springs unless I'm really tracking the car which I ain't. Unless you count driving like an idiot most of the time.

Just want the biggest widest wheels I can get with the least amount of work and cost. Lazy, I know. ;)

    18x8s ?

I'm not saying it won't fit, just you'll be doing some work to make it fit. I had coilovers, a full WL replacement front / rear, custom camber, fenders flattened & rolled; still no go.

Lowering the causes the rear arm to move the wheel forward in the wheel opening which causes the tire to contact the front of the wheel opening.

With really stiff springs (basically no suspension travel), you could do it.

I spent a lot of time & money with the help of a shop that fabs racecars. We did one trial run on the 275 around the parking lot, rubbed everywhere. I tried with 245. It worked but rubbed under load. I never wanted to cut the body, so the project died. I sold the wheels & tires. Eventually, I bought a set of 17x8 Enkei PF01 & BFG R1 235/40/17. The car made 1.5G on that combo and pushed me out of the driver's seat.

    Pictures:

    1. on the ground, 245's mounted on 18x9.5. 225's in the back on 18x8.

    2. on the lift with 275's mounted on 18x9.5.

    Options to make it work:

    1. drill new holes to relocate the axle - Dead Mr. is the person to contact on this. His thread here is worth reading. He used to be GyroDisc and has epic threads there.

    2. move the upper c/o mounting point (the tire will hit the c/o first)

    3. Use spacers to push the wheel out, then add fender flares. See this thread for help with flares/running wider wheels.

    4. Use narrow tires. 215's on 18x9 will work. Looks like shit, but it works.

  10. Anyone know where I can rent beg borrow or steal a car worthy of Nashville backroads?

I'm traveling there August 7-11 and open to any ideas suggestions tuner shops clubs...or...cars that aren't sleep inducing

South FL roads, all flat and all right angles, are soul crushing for any driving enthusiast...

Very grateful for any leads or info...
