  1. I had my LGT at the dealer today for some warranty work on the interior.... but I left the Hog-zawst mod in place. You should've heard it when they drove it into the bay. It sounded awesome. I'm at 35,500 miles... so they can kiss my a##.
  2. It isn't that compicated... get 8 washers (4 for each side --> 2 for each bolt). A regular old washer will do..... Take the bolts out... remove the flange gasket... insert the bolt through the first flange, through 2 washers, through the second flange... and then the nut. This isn't rocket science.....
  3. Yeah.... it makes it alot easier to hear what is going on..... The car, stock, is WAY too quiet. I'm not driving a Ford Taurus, for petes sake.
  4. You don't even know what you are talking about. I have both a Subaru and American muscle. The cost does not determine the coolness factor... and it definately doesn't determine the rice factor. Most ricey cars I see have a crap load of $$ spend on big wings and body kits. Does that make it acceptable... since it was expensive? Not in my book. Maybe you should try it before you label it "ricey". I think it sounds pretty mean and looks completely stock.
  5. My milage has been exactly the same since I did the Hog-mod exhaust. Hey... speaking of which... you want me to change the title of this thread Hogmeat? Maybe something like.... "The Hog-mod exhaust experience"
  6. Glad to hear it.... They ordered my door panel... and I go in next Tuesday for it to be installed... but I think the shifter/console gap issue is going to be an argument. The guy is giving me a hard time since I have gauges installed in my cubby (like that has anything to do with it ).
  7. I am still working on the second delete pipe... so right now I have both stock cans on with 2 washers on each side....
  8. I had two guys approach me today and tell me how good the car sounded. The first was a co-worker... who said the car sounded "mean". The second was a guy with a WRX wagon at the gas station this evening. We chatted for a few minutes (we're both stg 2) and then I started the car up to leave. He gave me the big thumbs up and yelled "that sounds awesome"! I was pleased......
  9. Ah... .who knows what "the most restrictive thing is". Everybody just speculates on that. I have had the Hog-mod for almost a week now... with a 2 washer installation. I like it... but when I get some time I might try dropping it to 1 washer... just to see what it sounds like.
  10. To each their own.... I still think this is a very creative mod. My wife and I took the car across town today (~50 miles) and I think I like the sound even more the longer I listen to it. This might be a perma-mod for me!
  11. Hey Hogmeat.... thanks for posting this up. I know alot of you guys said you tried this already... but I never saw anyone post it. Kudos to Hogger. I tried it this morning and ... I have to say that I really like the tone. I think I am going to leave it for a while. Thanks again!
  12. He installed spacers on the bolts... between the flange faces.... thereby letting some of the pressure waves escape.... Just take the flange loose, remove the gasket... re-install the bolts.. while inserting a washer on each one (between the flanges)..... NOT BAD, Hogger! What thickness washers/spacers did you use?
  13. Well... went to the dealership yesterday and got some story about how the interior parts are only covered for 1 year or 12,000 miles. So... I went out to the car and called 1-800-Subaru3 and talked to a customer service representitive. They called the dealership and informed them that the warranty was, indeed, 3 year - 36K mile warranty ... even on the interior parts. So... they are ordering me a door panel... but the guy is giving me some grief since I have gauges installed in my cubby. I told him that the cubby is completely seperate from the shifter plate/console... and that I thought it was BS to try and deny the repair. He said that they would take it apart when I came back in next week to see what they can do about it..... I really hate dealing with stealerships.......
  14. Silver LGT sedan w/ spoiler heading N bound (morning) and S. bound (afternoon) on US 23 just south of Columbus. I saw you wave... I was in the RBP heading the opposite way!
  15. I am going to take mine in tomorrow after work for them to take a look at it. I have had this console gap since the car was new. Hopefully ... they can just order me a new part and new surround and it will be fixed.... I also have a problem with the passenger side rear door panel..... the fabric keeps folding up over the arm rest....
