in 1st and 2nd you're not locked to the torque converter. when in first gear, there's a forward brake (I think that's what it's called?) that helps with deceleration. If you're on a decline (going down hill), even a slight decline, it has a tendency to grab harshly and make a clunk/clang.
What a coincidence, happened to me this morning!
-
Yes. The first time i touched it i noticed it kinda lurches me a little more. But in a way that makes me think it is promoting slipping. Kinda like not coming off the clutch fully in a manual before hitting the accelerator again.
THe Calc TQ tables fixed that a somewhat, now i feel more comfortable having the power on earlier (from less retard) as now it spends less time shifting (with the CAlC tq adjusted)
I'm not sure if it's mind over matter, but thats what i felt.

Slightly to 7400. Stock is 7000.
NOt USDM which around 6K or 6.5

UTC_Pyro and Throttle_Happy, before and after:
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hu28s-JiFTM]Before: RT and timing on shift only[/ame]
[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ope5gRx6rWU]After: Calculated TQ & Requested torque + Timing on shift[/ame]
Much faster shifts now thanks. I recon first one shifted within 76ms, the second one with Calc TQ at 53ms (1st to 2nd gear) though the first one had a slighty faster 0 - 100 time as it was a night time run and smoother road surface
-
Yes, I've been looking for that. Most of the tables in this rom seem to use the B tables over the A, at least when i'm in manu-shift mode.
But based on how these values are, i'd say A table is used. Throttle_Happy please chime in

Note that the gen 4 JDM legacys all use the Spec B stiffer LCA bushing.
JDM tophats are firmer than USDM
JDM bushings are also firmer it seems
Not just in subaru but in other vehicles (honda civic) I remember ordering a US tophat for my civic because it was "Cheaper" took a week and had to get the JDM one, was too squishy!
vehicles that use the STI bushing:

That is not bad, but really couldn't tell much since engine noise became hard to hear after you got into 2nd. Can you rerecord (safely) with windows up and no other noise than engine (to the extent possible)?
Best I could do. The noise you hear is my steering column touching my downpipe from the engine twisting as it launches.

Old tranny that was damaged that we talked about. No idea as yet what the new one i put in yesterday will do. I'm convinced the extremely low fluid caused its death.
I reckon that is particularly quick changing if it's stock. Has it been tuned, and if so, by who?If you are referring to my video it's self tuned.
VF 34, Water meth, 2.0 liter. Singapore model,
I have a lot more i can pump out,.. but the rods are stock and thin like ej205
edit...
Now that I'm looking on the video it's actually quite fast shifting for stock. I hope that VB wasn't modified! That map was running 400 RT values.
-
Can you confirm that the drill bits are for the different Shift aggressiveness levels? I was reading something to that effect on a Nissan board but i can't find it back.
Something about "Hot rod" setting
-
I wonder how much faster this will change gears when I get a hexmods. It's already quick-ish

How does it idle?
Disconnect your maf sensor and drive. If it behaves OK then check for boost and vac leaks
+1 in BPV failing

Do u have a lazy third gear during lockup? What causes this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9RHqAtZuM5Q
check my video out for reference. When it reaches third, it slows right down. It even shows on the road dyno a huge dip in the lockup region. I get higher numbers in 2nd gear
-
Alright, slow down.
If you are only logging you do NOT need to go in ECU flash.
In romraider, did the COM port become selectable in the dropdown at the top?
-
There is a great void for a JDM LGT intercooler fitment. I can be your test fitter.
-
I add a 0.01uf cap to pins 5 and 7. Still cutting out, but not as frequent
added a 0.1uf cap intead. Now the cable is unable to flash
-
JMLegacy, check here regarding your logging issue. Try splicing in a capacitor.

Ok
they say put a cap bridge across pins 5 and 7. Would it be easier to do this to the cable instead of the connection on the car? I'm not sure if i can access behind the connector

When in 2nd or 3rd gear I have difficulty loggin anything above 4500RPM. Romraider just cuts out. I even removed all but 4 parameters logged and same behavior. Some folks say It's interference. Some say ECU is busy. I have no idea whats happening here as it never really used to happen!

Is this the same process for the jdm bl5?

The turbo sits closer to the usdm the the jdm

The JDM and USDM intercoolers are not interchangeable

Hey guys,
I'm replacing the bend on my intercooler (JDM style bend)
It's the hose that leave the turbo and 90* bend to the intercooler.
http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=106120&thumb=1&d=1319111805
I'm now in need of a flange that will mate up with the LGT style turbo
I looked everywhere and cannot find a part like that. Does anyone know anybody that makes this?
-
I agree with you. But based on my estimation it won't change much. Looking at my spoolup region in my tables it can't get much leaner than that, and dual AVCS...maybe AVCS can take some more pressure. Idk though, leave that to the tuner

My experience with the ignition retard is that it causes clutches to slip. It's almost like not lifting off the gas pedal when shifting gears in a manual.
Do not modify that table without modifying the calculated torque and other necessary torque tables or at best a HEXAGRAM valve body mod.
