  1. Looked at the price tag of a '15 Spec Demo 8 the other day. Decided I would rather own a motor vehicle instead.
  2. Well yeah, but as stated before, you'll be able to buy the kit without splitter as well, to keep costs down. in4gb pricing
  3. I wish people would realize that product development takes much longer than they think. If they waited any longer, there would be less interest generated (this is free advertising almost). Releasing stuff like this at the end, it would amount to "Hey, this is how we did it" without any teasers. Signed, A product development engineer at a company that is not GS Insider info: Getting molds/dies made usually takes 10 weeks alone on top of getting prototype parts in. More insider info: Product development engineers don't work on only one project at a time.
  4. What is there to fixture? Other than the end tanks to the core, but he's clearly got one end tank welded already and is on his way with the other, so a fixture isn't going to do anything other than keeping it from falling over. Falls over, it gets scrapped (dent, bent fins, etc)... that's on GS. I'm not sure how not having a fixture at this point makes it any less of a quality piece. Where I work, we only fixture things for welding long enough to get them tacked together and possibly half-way welded. It's just to set orientation to each other.
  5. Love the garden box idea... my back yard has a bit of a mound to it so I might have to steal the steps/patio idea... Hmm...
  6. All that work and all I did was put two sconces above my fire place mantle and paint the trim on a couple doorways.
  7. I wish I went with a darker grey in my office.
  8. I don't understand why they didn't put the second (requested) cable outlet *exactly* on the opposite side of the wall... why move it down 3 feet? You're definitely going to hit at least 2 studs in the way... put it on the opposite side of the wall and you should be in the same stud cavity.
  9. Hanging drywall isn't so bad. Mudding, well, fuq dat.
  10. ...and that's why I'll never use one. The only thing I'll do with a two prong outlet is rewire it with romex.
  11. There are "Polish Grounds" where you just pigtail the neutral wire to the ground screw. I'm part Polish so I can poke fun. My electrical panel (and neighbor's too) have common ground/neutral bus bars so it's essentially the same thing... was fine back when the house was built because it was knob and tube but probably not code for new construction now.
  12. Half the reason I'm buying the GS one when it's released is the turbo outlet adapter... I never have to mess with those bolts again. I'll remove it on weekends for fun just because clamps are so easy.
  13. All of the outlets at work are ground up and every outlet I've seen at the hospital my mom works at is ground up as well. I thought it was a commercial and education requirement? I can't remember if my dorm room had them up or not. Regardless, I saw the merits of ground up so that's what I did, however remote the chances are that I'd need the safety.
  14. A+ putting the outlets in "upside down." Every outlet I've rewired in my house has been like that. Not many people know the reasons behind that.
  15. Kitchen looks awesome... I wish I could have a vent hood over my stove like that but size (lack of cabinet space due to small kitchen) necessitates me having a regular microwave and cabinets over the stove. I'm planning on going with a similar floor tile color.
  16. Ordering two boots (inner and outer) and the 4 clamps for my passenger front axle as I type. I also ordered a new axle nut and transmission/axle seal just in case. I have a quart of Extra-S hanging out in my garage for any that I lose during the process. Have all of you guys used the Subaru grease or do you have stuff on hand that you like to use? I have some (a tub) Mobil 1 "high grease" that I was planning on using... I didn't read all 550 replies... any tips or tricks? I figure I could reboot both sides by just taking one side apart... take apart the inner/green cup side, cut off both boots, slide the outer boot down the shaft, pack some grease, clamp, done.
  17. I've been putting up new baseboard and quarter round trim lately... so many nail holes to fill. I need to hang another ceiling fan, put up two sconces, finish caulking and painting baseboard nail holes, paint doors, paint door trim... then the main floor refresh will be done. I need to run new coax and ethernet and then the rewire will be done. Should be good to go by Christmas.
  18. I used Solidworks to map out reorganizing my room once... measured all of my furniture and figured out how to make it fit. That desk is awesome... wouldn't go with my decor plans but I want it anyway.
  19. House has killed all of my time for biking. I've had to resort to eating healthier to maintain losing weight versus exercise and eating whatever I want
