Ask me if I am surprised.
Well you might be surprised to hear that it seems the Stars have aligned and the test should be done..... soonish ha ha ha! Talked to Steven today and hopefully everything works out and everything will come to an end soon! The plan is to run my car with its setup without touching it and do a few pulls log it and switch out the dp to your design and rinse and repeat. They will post the logs regardless of the results and we can all move on with our lives ha ha ha

I haven't heard from nameless in a long time....
-
Just because I would like for you guys to start a different thread so people don't have to search 83 pages of shit to find your conversations....yes I would like for you to start a new topic. I assumed a respectful yeah no problem brah would work, but apparently not.
-
Cause the last 50 pages are about nothing but installing the Nameless DP...
Or you could be an asshole about it......typical subie brah response

Please start a different post for your debate!!

That's the thing is we don't know at this time if my car is over boosting or not. Whenever we do get to the dyno I will bring my stock bpv with me and we can test both setups if need be. I have never had the cel lights come on in a WOT scenario in 2,3,4 gear. Only when my wife wanted to race someone in 5th did the light come on. Trust me when I say I am just as interested in the results of the upcoming dyno runs as you guys are!

I'm not at this point yet. I haven't even tried to install my downpipe, and only a handful of people here have with mixed results, both good and bad. We don't have nearly enough information for any sort of legal recourse (I believe, I'm not a lawyer).
I will admit, however, that I have a potential recourse that no one else from the group buy does: which is to schedule my install with Nameless themselves. Now, I have no idea what Nameless is up to nowadays. But come sometime in January, which is when I should have the available funds for this, I'm planning on giving Nameless a call and seeing if they can fit my car into their schedule. Until I make that attempt, I'm content to just wait and see what additional data we can get through either other installs or when Nameless eventually tests the downpipe themselves.
My ideal solution will be having Nameless revert the downpipe design back to their original version, which includes the angled join of the dump pipe back into the main exhaust. But, I have no leverage to make that happen myself unless I try to install it and see how things shake out.
I should be a good candidate for overboosting. It'll be winter time, so somewhere in the 40's, the tallest point in Portland is less than 650 feet above sea level, and I already own the full TBE Nameless offers (also not yet installed). So if my car overboosts, then I'll already be working with Nameless and the tuner to determine the solution.
I have been trying to get my car into Nameless for months now...I don't see how you think they will magically have time for you? The difference is, you would be paying them to do it, not trying to smash your plan, but I have the original design and have never experienced overboost. Why would they try and fit you in with the old design and no miles behind your set-up, other than for the money? Nameless will message me once a month and nothing for a month, so I don't know what to tell you guys. If they get you in, I would still have to come because you don't have original. That would be awesome, but I don't see that happening. You guys should all do what you want at this point, because this has become ridiculous. I didn't pay anything for my setup so it doesn't really bother me waiting until they have time, but if I did pay I would be pissed off as well. Just email them everyday until they respond or call them everyday

November is the next time all parties involved will have free time to get this figured out. If you think Nameless is just planning ways to take our money with no recourse is wrong. They are busy as ****, with a full rally, and drift team not much time to do anything else. When they have free time my car has been there, and yes they feel that their part isn't the issue.

Ok so the good news is that Monstorr held my hand step by step and helped me get romraider installed, bad news is the wife has the car ha ha! A huge shoutout to Richard!! I will try and get some logs tonight and post them to Facebook, because it's easier to post pictures there

What???!!!!
Surely he could borrow one local to him.
I am serious and don't call me surely ha ha! Borrow yes
-
Ok I will try the uninstall route soon, couldn't I just borrow an AP and do logs that way?
-
I give up for the day....I have tried a few different times and I am getting a little pissy lol.

You need to install 32bit Java, even if you have a 64bit machine
Yes sir...I read the directions lol
-
I upgraded my wife's laptop to the latest Java, and it goes to install and it still tells me I need to upgrade my java..... So I did again and it got me to a install prompt and then tells me I need to upgrade my java lol. So we are up to date on Java and it still won't install??
-
Romraider won't download on my wife's computer.....even after updating everything that needed to..... I absolutely hate technology some times
-
Email por favor! I just made a bandicam recording of the install/config. I will send you the necessary files as well. You will need to contact Nameless finding out what they want logged exactly though
My email is fischbach21@yahoo.com hit me up

Nope and I wouldn't have any idea what I was doing anyways, I am not very experienced with computers so I would be able to plug it in and that's about it. I figured someone would have helped me step by step, but no one has. It may seem easy for you guys to do something like this, but I have never done it before so I will need help. If not we will be waiting until November unless someone else with the original downpipe logs theirs. Have you guys made sure your downpipes were installed correctly, and the ones who haven't installed theirs should make sure it's clocked the right way so it's not hitting anything? You can't just throw it on and tighten it, it needs to be at a certain angle just like the rest of the exhaust.
-
Fisch, you have an AP, right? Is there a reason you can't just log with that?
Nope
-
To log everything yourself, you would need romraider, a tactrix cord and a laptop. From there you should be able to log whatever you need.
I have a laptop and the cable

The car will not be worked on til late October due to everyone being busy. The tuner from English racing was out of town the same time I was and they couldn't get the software to work correctly. Jason gave me a cable to be able to log when they find the correct whatever they needed to do logs. So technically I can do it by myself while we wait, I would just need one of our tuners.....McDowell tuning I am looking at you! So we as a small community could get this figured out! Let m know what I need to download and what steps need to be done. Also they said they downpipe needs to be centered while installing, basically you have to take off a boot or something so that while installing you can see and feel where the wastegate is and if it's not centered or hitting that you need to clock it to a certain degree until it doesn't hit. So don't quote me as they said a bunch of other things that I will get Jason or John to send me and I will post that here ASAP! Any questions just ask and I will try to get a good response because what they were saying made a shitload of sense, I just wish I would have recorded what they said lol. If this message seems all over the place is because I have 2 hangry(hungry/angry) children yelling at me sorry....
Another edit, this would only show what my set up is doing and we would test the other one later, also I talked to the tuner, and he said boost creep was never an issue when dyno tuning the car.
I am trying my best to get this done and I just wish I was smarter at this type of problem so I could relay what they said more clear for you guys
-
-
Well we are a very small community and any chance I have to improve our parts or to have more of them to choose from, I am all over it
-
I'm assuming there's a specific reason for using your car, either because they're familiar with it already or want to compare against the original downpipe design.
If you guys can't align with each other this year, I'm still planning to have Nameless install my exhaust (same as yours, if I recall - TBE with 5" mufflers + '15 WRX BPV) sometime in January.
Yes they built everything from/on my car so it's patient zero ha ha
