A California CCW Permit. Most who apply are denied. Approx 1300 active in a county of 2.4 million residents.
i just went through the 8 hour course here in AZ last saturday. 55 bucks, 10 bullets and we got out 1.5 hours early. the permit cost me 60 bucks to apply, and i should hear back in a few weeks or so. the instructor talked more about his deployment antics than anything else, along with a couple vets that were in the class as well.
here in AZ ialready carry concealed without a permit, but im riding to michigan this summer on my bike so i wanted to make sure i was legal in all the states im visiting. kommiefornia is not one of them.

the judge is a tad longer overall with the 3" chamber tho, but the 1" barrel difference soaks that up fairly well.
i also got a coupe ithaca shottys from her as well, an older golden trigger over under 20ga and an even older western made side by side 20ga. the side by side was one i didnt really care about getting, but the price was right so i took all 3.

look what i picked up yesterday! lady had the original gun shop receipt from 81, all the original paperwork and stuff as well. very well kept, her husband passed so she wanted to get rid of all his firearms. its a 4" highway patrolman model 28. needs a good clean and oil, probably going to take it out this weekend and see how it does

here it is next to my judge magnum for size comparison. it feels a bit heavier than the judge, as well as looking a bit larger overall.

the 22e has probably upwards of 300k on it. its currently in my parts car, apparently it has developed a decent oil seep somewhere. ive been adding a quart a week or so, havent had time to figure out where its getting out from tho. both 205s have not been looked at yet. both are complete from what ive seen, but no idea if they even spin yet.

what kind of parts you thinking?
the ej253 is supposed to be a rebuild for my daughter's forester, but i will have the one out of hers as a replacement to play with as well. the ej25d is in one of the cars now, im hoping to use the heads off of it for the new build. both the ej205 engines i have were spares, but id like to keep one of them intact to toss into smokey at some point.
-
way cool, i happen to have all those parts lol. thanks for the direction

Too bad you missed the 202 on the trip. 303s were a big thing when these cars were new.
ya, the last reset put the 100's digit half off, and i couldnt get pulled over soon enough to get the two to stay.
-
i forget if you mentioned why the ej222 block over the ej22e? would there be any difference? im debating doing a hybrid for one of my outbacks, engines i have available to play with are ej22e, ej25d, ej253 and a couple ej205 sitting around in different states of disarray. id like to end up with a NA higher torque build for playing in the desert.

is that with or without the spacers? i never noticed if i had air temp available on my 95 and 96 models
-
you should sandwich the ptfe between two pieces of aluminum and heat just one side up to see how much heat transfers through to the other piece. that would be a great test to see how much heat the intake would be avoiding from direct transfer out of the block

my 96 outback parts car is about to roll over the 303k mark. smokes a bit on start up, gone in about 30 sec usually. rattles a ton, but still makes it up hills and through mud and sand.

wouldnt flattening the top of the piston lower compression? you arent raising the stroke at all, just giving a bigger chamber overall, the way im seeing it.

wow, thats a load of crap. hope they refund you fully

I originally wanted the gates belt, but kept seeing reviews that the blue belts disintegrate and cause idlers to fail prematurely. Something about blue dust killing them. Seemed like a goo enough excuse to save some money and go with a regular belt for now. Not sure if it is actually true though.
hmmm, good to know. ill keep an eye out for that, but after a year and a half i have no dust (of any color) at all behind the covers, just had them pulled off a couple weeks ago to try and locate an oil leak. thankfully it wasnt behind the timing covers.

Lol or you can just register your car outside of Maricopa county
When I move back to Phoenix, I'll be keeping my registration in Yavapai county on my SVX and my offroad Outback because they won't pass emissions. They both don't have any cats and the Outback has a cheater device for the O2 sensor to fool the ECU. I won't have to worry about it though, considering both cars have 5 year registrations.
ive been looking at getting a plot of forest up in heber area, then i will do just that lol. also, im running two cars with hollowed out cats and dont have any codes at all. one has a borla header with a bung spacer, the other is dead stock

fun fact, the T328 timing belt fits the EJ25 as well, which opens you up to using the turbo gates racing belt made of kevlar. it costs a lot, but hell why not. i just wish i had clear timing covers so you could see the pretty blue thing lol
