Check knock sensor for cracking dirty throttle body, also purge valve stuck open. You can use a purge valve from a second gen legacy. That’s what I have in my 94 when it went bad.

LOL. It’s my car. I’ll do it again if I want to. And it’s never mixed coolant and oil. It was 40$ to machine. And 15$ for head gasket and exhaust manifold gasket. I’m cheep yes.

I had the head machined. Gonna fill the gaps the rest of the way with jb weld. Good enough for me.

Thanks. I’ll look into them. Weird the can be the same on both sides.

I need a cylinder head for my 94 first gen!!!! Drivers side if anyone has links to one. I had jbwelded the head when I replaced the head gaskets. But it has failed. And is using coolant again. Hit me up if you know where one is. Thanks!!!!!

Haven’t posted in a while, I had given my old Subaru to my dad. Just had to do headgaskets on it. Left side was leaking coolant into cylinders. 6 hours to pull engine. Replace headgaskets and head bolts and clean it up. Installed a new clutch while in there. Back to running good again!!

I've had a vibration in my front end since I got my subie, I've done tires, rim swaps balanced the crap out of the tires done front axles/ checked all joints and still had a vibration. I have lived with it for about 30k miles. well this past weekend I did front pads and rotors and now I can actually drive at 75-80 with out any vibration!! come to find out it was the rotors that weren't balanced!!!! thanks to meineke for putting on the last set from the previous owner. I would never recommend using there crap of brakes ever!! I installed a new set from advance autoparts there silver line. so far no issues I've gone about 250 miles so far. cost threw my work about $75 for them

In the last few days it's been the thermostat, water pump and timing belt.
It only took 2 tries to get the timing right . Water pump was straight forward first try. T-Stat.... omg what a headache... I couldn't get it to seal... the o-ring is impossible to keep in place in the upper housing (with the T stat) while trying to push the lower housing up into place! Not to mention the first one was non OEM... so I got another... probably 8 tries in total to get the 2 good seals.! In the end I used some gasket goo to set the o-ring and thermostat on the lower housing and carefully put it up into place. eek. Hope I don't have to do that again for a loooong time!

note: put the thermostat in before yo put the water pump on the car. much easier.

mine was the condensor was leaking. also the service valves have a slight leak. a/c dye and a ir. light works wounders at finding leaks condensors are expensive, i found mine on ebay for 70. i think it was a r-12 one, but it works better than the r134a one i took out. seems colder that is.

I had to replace the water pump bypass hose. I did an oil change last sat and saw that the hose was swollen. I squeezed it and thought i should replace that hose. well today it blew on me. sooo moral of the story. if you see something that should be replaced... dont touch it till you do!!!

just a reminder, i posted a geo tracker purge valve works on our cars. Has the same resistance and connector. Im using one...

anyone know why someone would disconnect the hill holder? I was cruzin down the block one day when all of a sudden no go?? popped the hood at the light and noticed it wasnt connected turned it the other way and drove away. tied it off with some tie wire and it seems to be fine. looks like everything is there but disconnected.why why why??
mine wasnt hooked up when i bought it. sooo i spent 45 minutes finding new nuts to hook it up only to find out the clutch petal felt like a king cobra mustang clutch petal after i was done. so i disconnected it again. and I am alot happier with it disconnected.( so is my left leg):spin:you dont need it anyway
