1. Yeah, AT4 CarbonPro with the Duramax. I got a tonneau cover ordered for it, that's it so far. Not sure what else I'll do in the short term. When Banks releases their tuner for it, I might grab that.

First truck, so a lot to get used to :)

First truck for me too, I've told myself I'll wait at least a year till i tune it, it'd be great if banks came up with something for it but there are already a bunch of options, currently looking at the duramaxtuner setup with the dial since i do tow with it and don't want it on full kill all the time but need the option, plus it's just fun to have another thing to play with. can't believe its supposed to get even better gas mileage after a tune, i already get 30 pretty easily on country highways. first owner ditched the front air damn on mine so its not quite that at 65+. congrats on the new truck

2. Well what I did to my LGT (day before Thanksgiving) was say goodbye. It's been a fun 9+ years but it was time to move on. At least the replacement still has a turbo!

LGT was traded in then sold in under a week. I'm hoping to get in touch with the new owner to see if he wants some history and extra parts. If anyone sees a new member on the forum with it, send them my way!

lost an LGT brother but gained a LWN one. is that the AT4 version? i just have a Z71 colorado but i absolutely love it. its surprisingly capable offroad too even without the locking diffs, and the thing tows like an absolute dream.... what kind of extra parts you got?

3. My Crosstrek certainly doesn't have the fun, fast, and driver engagement factor that my LGT had, but it excels in being the exact opposite. It's a boring appliance that gets me places with little fuss. It's also surprisingly capable off road. X-mode just chugs up hills and slowly crawls down the other side.

the crosstrek is fun as long as you don't have much grip or an autobox. my friend has a stick one and is obviously not so fast but it may be more fun than my LGT in a nice snowy lot.

4. My '12 GT is already really nice, it is SoCal car with just the one winter. It is probably in the top 10-15% of 2012 Legacy GT. Trust me, I was not going to search out for one of the nicest if not the nicest LGT in the country to drive it in the winter.

Despite my living in a salt state, I would have kept your car in a way that you would have been up to your standards. I drove my Legacy GT one winter after purchase the 1st year after my divorce. I buckled down and sucked it up that year to pay off divorce debts and help my financial future going forward. It killed me to drive it that winter and it hasn't seen winter since and it won't see another winter again under my ownership. I have had a 2nd collectible car since I was 21 and none of those vehicles ever saw a winter in 26 years since. As someone who works on their car, I understand what a NE winter does to car. Wrenching on my GMC Syclone engine compartment and undercarriage bolts is like turning a wrench on a 1 year old car. (its history is SoCal/Virginia collect never seen a winter truck) I have been talking about selling my Syclone the last couple years, its eventual replacement will be a rust free never driven in the salt as well. My LGT is going to its place, while I save up for my next one.

I don't know what to tell you man, as much as I hate FB sometimes, and as much as I shake my head sometimes at members in the group, I have felt that its important to remain active there. My asking price was $18k and I lowered that to $16k after no interest. The final sale price was very close to that.

mines only seen 7 winters, the top of every mountain rd in VT, and has been taken out every time it snows since the beginning of its life. it may be rusty as all get out but a better snow slayer there is not. hopefully it'll fail an inspection before its too far gone to become an actual racecar but i don't see it slowing down anytime soon. a clutch, timing belt, head gaskets, ARP studs, koni shocks and some more goodies are to come this spring before i start chasing some actual power, we'll see just how stuck those engine mount bolts are soon enough...

5. So it's been a while since I've posted but I'm still in the GT... for now... She's approaching 195k on stock everything and still holding her 12psi boost like a champ, although she rarely sees that because I only use it to commute during the week and drive the Titan on the weekends.

Anyhow last weekend I was trying to put on the serpentine belt that came with my timing belt kit.... it's been in the box with the extra STI WP I have which came in the Continental TB kit vs the LGT WP... When I did the TB the serpentine belt I had was ok so I reused it and saved the one from the kit for later. Well now comes time to replace the serpentine and for the life of me I could not get it to fit.

I have double checked the PN and according to Rockauto it's the right one (PN: 5060650) and it crosses over to 809221140 on all the manufacturers that list the 60650 which is what parts.subaru.com shows. I do see that the Gates & AC Delco PNs on RA have 651 at the end but they also cross to the 1140 subaru PN. So has anyone else ran into this or am I just being a wuss on the tensioner? I feel like I'm maxed out on the tensioner so I honestly feel like the belt is just too short. Obviously it's shorter than the one thats on the car because it's old and wore out but I can't seem to find anything that says the 5060650 is wrong.

If i remember correctly from the last time I did the serpentine belt(probably almost 30K ago) the tensioner moves a lot, I'd think the belt would have to be pretty undersized to not be able to get it in there at all. i put my breaker bar on it when i did it, you won't hurt the tensioner as long as you stop pulling when you hit a positive stop.

6. The average person won't pay the extra money. Even some of my friends are denial that the 5 years old cars they own is rusty.

In VT there are a bunch of places that do this and they certainly do get extra money for them... but that only because cars that lived up here are worthless and they are selling high quality used cars under 100K with the ole we'll take care of you warranty for people that want some peace of mind. they aren't trying to sell the the kid looking for 150k mile Subaru. I wouldn't say they are making themselves rich but certainly a lot less surprises and fixes to deal with and consistency helps make a sustainable business.

7. I cant find the temp the light triggers at, but I did find out if its blinking the engine us close to over heating if its solid its already there. I seem to recall overheating being in the 225 degree range.

It got to 230 just after i turned it off not sure what it was before that because i wasn't monitoring it, i didn't see any lights at any point though.

8. I do want to use the best stuff... I just don't understand why a car manufacturer would have the best. You'd think valvoline would be better at making fluids since, ya know, they make fluids. I'm going with Subaru fluids since I can't find any legitimate answers as to how it's the same/different from normal blue stuff before the additive they use to keep head gaskets in place while constantly wet. Only reason I used valvoline was because it was sunday and subaru was closed and I needed to make sure that I didn't have a bigger problem. Lucky I was using my accessport for a coolant gauge because the hot light didn't come on. Does anyone know what temp it comes on at?
9. Took her for a nice drive around the lake Champlain islands this afternoon... temps were 230 when i got back, let it cool down and checked just now, my upper radiator hose is totally empty, the coolant tank is nearly brimming, way over the high mark even cold so I'm assuming i have an air leak. my freaking truck did nearly the same thing 2 weeks ago, except the coolant tank was empty, ended up being a broken hose clamp. didn't find any leaks under this one but there was some fluid that came out of over flow because it seems it filled all the way up.

looks to be that it was just accumulated air recking the vacuum because the coolant has over 100K on it. topped off and bled it with some blue stuff and the car is acting normally, temps drop after crossing the 190 threshold, fluid drains out of the overflow back down below the high mark once cooled. just need to do a little flush and get some fresh fluid in there. do i really need to run subaru supercoolant or can i just use regular blue stuff with the subaru additive?

11. Hey guys I have some stock LGT parts that I don't want or need anymore. Does anybody have an interest in these? I will likely throw them out or recycle for beer money if no one does.

Stock TMIC, has ~145k miles on it and it shows.

Stock cat back exhaust, don't want to ship this.

Stock charge pipe, probably a pain to ship

Stock BOV

Stock boost controller

I'd be interesting in the stock charge pipe, i want to get an aluminum version made but hate to have the car down all that time to get it done. i would be very willing to share my results, hoping i can make schematics for it so it can be recreated by any good fab shop.
