  1. Made it into work okay... another day, still no melty. nothing blown yet.
  2. Can only tempt fate by saying that the car is fine at this boost level. Fact is I am expecting something to go wrong and planning for it, just not sure when or what but you just can't be this hard all the time on a car and not have an issue at some point! thank you for all your comments. It's out of sleeper mode, the summer OZ wheels are back on... it's not so inconspicuous now.
  3. you need to drive faster to find out...
  4. Don't know. You really haven't given much information. Probably was Jerm despite what he says because he has the same color car as me.
  5. there was very little effort pulling away from you with the extra 9mph I had on you the whole time.
  6. replacement AEM flow sensor is here... that will fix that issue. Only other one is the near regular MAF code for max voltage, just a lot of air and not sure how to deal with that!? Otherwise everything has been very good and working well - haven't melted a piston. yet. soon. maybe.
  7. not sure I'll ever try a proper 1/4 mile at a track. I have no interest in breaking the car to get a time. IF I went to the track I would start with a very slow gentle start so the real number would always be a guess but we'll see. I might go this year but really not sure I'd want to run it - don't have a helmet and there's no way tech inspection would pop the hood and let me on the track without one, they aren't stupid and know what's going on, sleeper or not! No future plans... what else to do? More power wouldn't necessarily make it faster - there's some 475whp/475wtq and 440whp/505wtq 2.5's I've run up against and we're just neck and neck because of where the power curves come in on the much bigger Turbo's needed to get that kind of number - I have a reliable car still, so it seems... I'll be stopping here for now and work only on maintenance items and some cosmetic items. This is still a daily driver, every day.
  8. Showing off? I think not. I only ever go the posted speed limit and of course we were talking about highway speeds.
  9. Occasionally I may hit 65 but otherwise I have no idea what you're talking about.
  10. Yeah got to do something about them Zipties! First mod I ever did to that car over 5 years ago now!
  11. he knows me... that's the thing. The car doesn't look like anything is going on...
  12. don't know what you mean? I have barely exceeded 64mph.
  13. funny thing about Meth... the line popped off - seems the car can survive without Meth, at least I can say this, it has survived without meth, this time. TOTALLY need the flow gauge to tell you when this happens and I lost 1 Gallon of meth in seconds with an open line! AEM are replacing the sensor - I have an RMA and the part is on its way back. Once I get a working flow gauge then I can reconnect the fail safe because obviously it was shutting down the car every time thinking there was no flow. 2015 Update... NO the car was not okay! This methanol failure caused the start of a lot of issues...
  14. I wrapped my downpipe because it is catted and it stank. Getting it hotter I hoped would fix the problem (2015: It didn't! The methanol makes the car smell like a Baghdad chemical factory) Secondary reason was the melted cv boot problem people complain about... And boy it melted it really good!! Grease went everywhere...
  15. what use is the warranty anyway if you really consider the time/cost/aggravation involved with waiting and paying for shipping etc vs paying for some self remedy. Broken header under any circumstance requires rapid repair, I'd get it welded immediately > warranty of no interest to me. Headers were wrapped very loosely with the wrap barely 1/4" overlapping. This protects enough and keeps the headers just a bit hotter. The results were there obviously so if the wrap helped with those numbers and I believe they helped in their small %, enough heat still escapes to minimize the risk of cracking - I don't believe it's enough of a concern with the way the wrap was done - I also wrapped dry with the titanium wrap not installed wet or tight.
  16. Welcome indeed Mr 06specb366 - Very much looking forward to meeting you sometime and extending our friendly LGT family of friends. Ignore Jerm though, he's not very nice.
  17. typical... can't finish them behind the couch either!!
  18. Probably NRW - I know this because he's not at home finishing the YouTube videos of the dyno day.
  19. yes I will probably be there this week... and ahhhh that's where the evo appeared from! I was like what the hell planet have I landed on!!?
  20. Any drive by footage would be boring. Maximum speeds never exceed the speed limit.
  21. No idea what this picture was. I need to find this one still! http://www.sigmafour.net/build/TAF.jpg
