  1. Anyone making map changes to their car when switching over to the 6 speed? If there are a few of you maybe we should make a new thread to discuss.
  2. In Socal, I'd like to trade my cloth interior from my 05' (in good condition) for black leather. Cash on my end (amount depends on condition).
  3. I wasn't responding to the picture. That's the one I have on my car. Yes I realize it is the same. Notice he said 04-05 STi.
  4. That's because the Impreza one is a completely different design. You need the one above mate
  5. You mean you had the all aluminum (r180 version) mount sitting there? Put that sucker in!
  6. I bought a brand new Spec B driveshaft and axles. I wish I knew before I put it on that you needed the specs Spec B rear diff mount part number is 41310ag040
  7. For clarification, the stock mount will "work". As in the car will drive. The issue I found was that when getting into first or reverse I had lots of shuddering and clunking from the rear diff. Initially I thought it was my clutch but after narrowing the clunk down to the diff, I looked up the part number, saw it was different and ordered/installed it. In the short trip from one shop to the body shop for other work, I had no clunks. I will do more testing after the car returns.
  8. Attention all. The R180 rear differential mount (the unit underneath the front of it) is different than that of the R160. For correct fitment, angle and no clunking, you have to use the correct mount. I seem to have lost the part number at the moment, but if I find my receipt I'll post it, and pics as well when I get the car back.
  9. I found a definitive answer regarding replacing the front axle seals. Turns out, early 04 models have a different differential cover plate, which does NOT allow removal of the seal from the outside (a la 5-speed transmissions) http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/showpost.php?p=34593146&postcount=80 I removed my 04 trans, to confirm that I too, have this issue. I will be having my local dealer replace them and check/set the backlash correctly. This is an area in which I do not want to screw anything up. Edit!!! You CANNOT use the older retainer plates with the stock legacy axles. You must use the newer plates... Seriously FML right now.
  10. Who has actually changed an 04 STi trans from the male stubs to the female. I read how it is just a matter of pulling the stubs, and changing the seal type, however my concern is the "sundial" on each side that adjusts the diff backlash. Did anyone have any issues? If you personally went through this process please speak up!
  11. I have this issue. It's annoying to say the least when you're in snowy mountains and you just want hot air asap...
  12. Yeah it's been a year since the original post, and about 4 of owning the car without a good stereo
  13. I wouldn't mind switching, 05' Unlimited (Cloth), great condition. Just throwing it out there incase someone's interested.
  14. Can anyone comment on the following combos: 05' GT Sedan lowered with Swifts 18x8 Formula Mesh et 48 with 245/35/18 18x8.5 G-Forces et 48 with 245/35/18 Any input is appreciated, thanks guys.
  15. I also wouldn't mind Celsius if it made it any easier/cheaper to mod
  16. /subscribe Hope it comes in a good deal cheaper than the fully modded version!
  17. That depends entirely on you, what your time is worth, your abilities and your preferences on your car. All I can tell you is it isn't extremely difficult, just time consuming and troubleshooting it if something doesn't work may be aggravating especially since it's your first time doing it. Remember you have to tap into all the ABS sensor wires, the ABS control unit, brake switch, throttle pedal, rear diff temp, gauge cluster, g sensors, thumbwheels, powers, grounds etc.
  18. Remove that clutch delay valve (I can see it in the picture on the tranny) and run the hose directly to the slave. You would have had a crapload of wires to connect regardless of how they sent the connectors, it is NOT as simple as 8 wires by any means. I'd agree that an aftermarket DCCD controller would be the best route so far.
  19. You can get a factory 3.90 ring/pinion from the dealer.
  20. There are 2 g sensors, located next to the ebrake under the thumbwheel, the idea being that is the center of the car. One for forward/aft movement, and one for lateral.
