Yes sunroad from Amazon. Sometimes you need to improvise with one end but it makes it very effortless. It's not "cheap" but the threads are tough and the roller washer is the best feature.

Best bushing press I've bought in a long time... Trailing arm bushings came out and went in like butter.

Today was the pups first day of a clinical trial for lymphoma treatment. Also got word that her case is considered a stage 5 since she has carriers in her blood. It's been a rough three weeks leading up to this first treatment, we were initially not finding any place that would take even a consult appointment but luckily Tufts called us about this trial.
She is 10 this August... Still has a lot of energy in her and I want to just let her enjoy as much as she can.

Yes... The OCD will take over... And it's always the small shit at the end that brings progress to a crawl and pushes the finish line out.As someone who is 85% done with this project make sure you get all the little bits too. Those are the ones that kill the momentum. I replaced most of the fasteners, and all the bushings under the car. I also painted a bunch of stuff way over kill but my OCD gets the best of me.I still have one faulty TGV sensor before I'm "done". Of course it's the one right against the turbo. May be nearly impossible to get out without at least loosening the whole intake assembly. UGHK.... Code disabled for now and I at least know it's operational, it just doesn't know what position it's in.

They're nice aren't they I wish my workshop would support my Max Jax... That would be a life changer for me in there, but the quick jacks also help a ton.Funny, I had my wagon on the quickjacks yesterday. Got them last week.

New AVCS gears are a success!
Public service announcement... Do not buy eBay AVCS seals from Russia and think they will last. Just buy new gears if you're unsure of how dirty or worn yours are.
New seals melted into goo... And apparently jammed my divers side one.
300 miles.... 300 ****** miles....

I was the same with round 1 shot... Absolutely no side effects. Shot two was a different story... and I'm 38.

Round 2 kicking my ass today. Felt fine yesterday but woke up to a fully soar body feeling like I had a fever when I don't register one and stomach in a knot. Not fun but I'll take this over the real deal.

Pulled my fuel pickup again to investigate a leak... It was coming from one of the fittings which is impossible to remove without sacrificing the internal plastic lines to simply replace the offending o-ring.
I was going to swap in the one from my 07 but that is horrifically cracked going around the top seam so that option is out. Also tried to heat up the plastic lines in hope that I could mix and match parts but I then discovered my 06 lid is also cracked.... New Subaru lid here we come...
I've only been able to drive this car about 350-400 miles... This little shit is killing me!

They really are a love hate relationship and if you can't accept that you own the wrong vehicle.... Ps my Beretta is no different... LMAO.
AVCS not functioning on drivers side, changed sensor and solenoid so now to investigate the cam gear itself. All the damn reused parts on this build are going to haunt me I know it.
It also has a passenger side TGV problem. I'll change that motor while I'm in here.

It took a lot of time and a lot of money to get it all that clean... I will be drenching it in fluid film every 6 months... That's for sure! You are my hero with that shiny underside of yours.Sent from my SM-G892A using Tapatalk

I like that they don't rust... I don't care about the weight... If I did I would have found some aluminum rear trailing arms... Those cast ones weigh a TON!
and yes very shiny... Almost all new components or powder coated. Back is just as nice...
Car has 250 miles on it right now... LOL
body ain't perfect but drivetrain is mint now.

I also have them... Changed nothing else... All stock 06 hardware otherwise.
They come with the ball joints!

I much prefer the full chrome headlight housing on OBP cars.
And here I am happy that my 06 came with a set of black surround headlights... LOL I hated the chrome ones on my 07, I feel like it took away the attitude of the car... Especially after seeing this 06 together. Everyone has a different preference tho

Engine braking, and 3-5lbs of boost loading it... This is far from my first engine break in... Hell that rattily forged setup lasted about 100k... I think I did good with that.

To be honest it is the most satisfying thing to be able to drive it with everything that I've done to it... also to have basically no issues on the first drive is really nice. I did take it out over a week ago when I first finished it and there was absolutely no problems... drove it down to my parents house and back, about 40 min trip.
That's when I put it up to sort out the registration transfer (have to make appointments around here to do it) and ended up doing the 07 dash swap. That resulted in a bracket search on ebay for the radio box, finishing the 08 wheel wiring, adding AUX and installing the SAT antenna... a week later and I can drive it freely! Of course no WOT, only wastegate boost, and keeping it under 4k rpm for a few miles... it's peppy compared to the 07, probably the gearing change that I feel.

And to think the factory clamp is a little pinch thing... not even a screw clamp and it doesn't typically leak.
I just installed all new factory components on my rebuild and there are no drips at all.

Driving the 06 legally for the first time!
Yeah it's together but not 100% yet... At least that's what the passenger floor says... LOL

Defiantly a rear main seal if not also a trans input shaft seal.

My epic springs both broke at least two coils off the rear. I ended up going with H&R and Koni and love that setup.

That's what everyone says, including my wife... I'll know on April 28th.The 1st dose of the Pfizer vax was not bad for me as well. Be prepared for some symptoms after the 2nd shot.Sent from my Pixel 4a using Tapatalk

What do you suspect the reason to be for the difficulty in engaging first gear?
Why do you suspect it to be what you think it is?
Honestly not sure, may be a bad syncro or something that just just worn to the point where it binds all the time now and doesn't do it's job to smoothly engage... needs that spinning motion to get the cogs to line up. The car has 260k+ on it and it's the original trans... I've never had it apart.

I love how this forum is so critical over oil... LMAO...
It's oil, the car isn't going to implode and I highly doubt they are prepping for a day at the road course when it's going to be 110° out... #becausenotracecar...
Hell I do those things and have never sent an oil sample to Blackstone... LOL
