Holy cow....people are still using these?!?!?!

Do you happen to know what subframe I would need to turbo swap a 1998 legacy outback?
You can use a subframe from any Subaru that has a turbo EJ engine.

Thread updated and some of the original guides have been restored. I also added Thomistopheles Morimoto Mini H1 Bi-Xenon Projector Retrofit write up.

Got it thanks will post picks when I get them on, any advice on rim and tire size, I like off roading but everywhere around me has big trenches from trucks hence the reason for the lift, I thought 15 inch steelies would be best do you agree?

I use factory 15 inch steel wheels with 30 inch BFG AT KOs

OK I'm new here but anyway, I'm trying to lift my 96 legacy. I've already put front struts off of a 01ob, what would I use for the rear as the 01ob struts mount differently, or do I need to wait till I get some 5 lug rims and change the hubs as well? And then just change the top hats on the ob rear struts?

You need to use 96-99 Outback struts and its also a good idea to use the body lift spacers and trailing arm brackets off the Outback.

I'm new to this and am not sure how to start a thread but want to ask a question. I'm wiring a 1997 Subaru Legacy Outback for towing behind my truck and I'm wondering if there is a good way to run wires from the tail lights to the front end of the car.
That is an incredibly stupid idea. You're going to burn up the center diff in the car faster than you can say "oops". Use a flat bed car hauler to tow it.

right, just like i said. pain in the ass. when is it not a pain in the ass too do a tranny swap in general if you dont have a professional lift, let alone the extra details of drilling and installing a clutch pedal? and for a car that will cost as much to get a tranny as it is to buy a shell that is stick already? it might be ENJOYABLE to the true enthusiast and YOU may know what your doing, but its pretty obvious if this guy doesnt even know where to look for an engine its safe to say he has no clue. dont do it man, save yourself the trouble.
Drilling for a clutch pedal? It doesn't work that way. The entire pedal assembly gets swapped. It bolts right in. Everything bolts right in.

Its really not a pain in the ass. It can be done in a few hours if you know what you're doing and you have the proper tools.

If you're too lazy to push the shift key when a letter should be capitalized, then I'm too lazy to help you. But hey, its OK that you don't even bother to read the guides that I wrote to help people. After all, you're special and you shouldn't have to do your own research. Someone should hold your hand the entire time, right?
GO READ THE STICKY THREADS
Seriously, go read the guides I wrote. They answer all your questions.
If you have any more stupid questions after you read all the sticky threads, please feel free to ask! Once you have at least attempted to do your own research and educate yourself a little bit, I'll be happy to help you.

looking to pick up some 02 wrx sedan struts and 16" wheels tomorrow, just need to make sure they will work on my 95 wagon. from what i read it sounds like it will all work right, i will probably want to get some 3/8" rear spacers but beyond that everything will bolt up and work?
Did you read the suspension swap information?

the ride quality is excellent. The dampers' setting are currently set right in the middle between stiff and soft.is the ride quality pretty harsh compared to stock? No its not harsh at all.
I would say it is pretty safe to guess that the ride quality is excellent, just as he originally said.

My odometer rolled over on one of mine today. It currently reads 000,013. Total mileage 1,000,013
On another note, does anyone want to buy a low mileage second gen? It has less than 20 miles! LOL

Ya know, I'm pretty disappointed that this is the successor to my aftermarket thread, especially since you could have just thrown up a single link to whiteline and said go from there, since that where half the links are leading to anyways, and you also took off like 60% of what i had on there...including different options for different budgets and brands, including things non-traditional upgrades that are possible..
..all im seeing from this is a bunch of 'will it fit' questions and 'yeah i didn't include that cuz it doesn't bolt up in 20 minutes' shit... instead there's a 'performance stickers' category that not only makes this look like an amateur honda club, but also comprimises the integrity of the whole damn thing...the **** man? imma fix some links in my old thread and help some people out..
yeah, if this thread didnt suck so much ass...you'd know that up front, you can use any aftermarket strut bar from a 93-01 GC impreza, MAKE SURE that it's one with low-profile brackets, or else your hood wont close
in the back, any 02-04 bar will work, should just be straight across, no bends.. that bolts right up
I seem to remember your thread being full of dead links, and multiple people complaining that they were trying to get in touch with you to get it updated and you were nowhere to be found.
You vanished and never came back to maintain the thread. Why are you bitching?
-
Why are you guys fighting over shitty coilovers?
-
so, used Racelands off an 04' WRX
$250.00 a good price?
will they fit 99 sedan ?
I would answer your question, but I'll probably get banned for responding to you.:lol:
$250 coilovers? Really?

My girlfriend's parents have 05 WRX springs from their sons old WRX in their garage, could I swap them straight onto my 95 Legacy LS? And would they make my car any shorter?
Read the first part of the thread and it answers your question
-
I can't say for sure if it will fit, but all the mounting appears to be the same just judging from the pictures.
-
Nah. Nothing is ever deleted. Its just un-stickied that way it can still be found in search
-
The "low profile" ones will fit.
The old thread didn't get deleted. Look a few pages back and you will find it
-
I'm trying to to use eBay links or links that will expire. The eBay link that was in the old thread linked to a search term on eBay. It included bars that will fit and some that won't fit. To avoid any potential problems, I'm including links to stuff that is a known direct fit. No maybes are posted.
-
Fair enough. I'll put it up but I'm going to write an accurate description of how it isn't really a proper fit. Yeah, it works and it fits...but for some reason I just don't like the idea of making suspension parts fit like they. They are pretty important. I'm not an engineer. I don't know why our stock swaybars bolt to the inside of the links instead of outside, but I'm sure there is an important reason behind it.
-
Nobody ever said it was. WTF is your problem.
I'm listing direct fix stuff. Thats not a direct fit. It does not mount properly.
