So tomorrow I will be sending my first Datalogs into Bren after the intercooler/ charge pipe install.
How's e-tuning going?
-
The Rx was a tight fit to begin with. Great job getting this on and ready for tuning. One of the hoses blew off when Bren was tuning the car. Once it was set, never had any couplers come off.
-
-
Still on track for Friday. There's an additional coupler that could be used as an extension if the verticooler sits a little further back than OEM.
-
Not sure. It may be possible to combine the process west and the racer x to get a suitable unit. If not my ghetto perrin throttle body hose set up worked pretty good.
The OEM charge pipe is quite a restriction for just the OEM IC.
BBPeik - I've got a Racer X charge pipe in storage. I'll send it out to you for a test fit if that's helpful to the insall. PM me if interested.

Ah so that would mean more torque at a lower rpm than the WRXs? My dad wants me to ruin my car with a tow bar and tow boats around for him
Yup, stage I 5th gen is stage II wrx. Stage II adds more low end torque. Example:

The by pass valve in our cars, and someone correct me if I have this wrong, runs directly from the turbo outlet to the intake a few inches from the turbo.
Yes, the BPV is just above the turbo on the charge pipe. A 3" down pipe, or j-pipe, will deliver turbo spool effects and BPV recirc (tune reauired). Some have replaced the OEM charge pipe with an Rx Engineering one with actedmarket BPV (got one in basement ).

Darn!! Bought them before Christmas but just installed last week

I just installing replacement fogs on the WRX. They look to be 100% compatible with the 5th gen mounting.
The ones I picked out have a 90 degree horizontal coverage. The other choice is more to support road illumination up the road. I had gotten these at Subiespeed but they do not appear to be available anymore. Here they are at FT-86 factory http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/olm-vision-drl-led-fog-light-housings-1821.html
http://www.ft86speedfactory.com/images/2013-frs-brz-led-fog-drl.jpg
Additionally, these have LED strip above and below the fog that can be wired in to be on with the DRLs. I also installed the Laminex overlay to protect the glass. Subispeed has a few other options that you guys may want to look into.http://www.subispeed.com/2015-subaru-wrx/lighting
Did I read someone go one of their fogs busted up? If so, PM me as I have two OEM fogs.

Probably NRW (assuming he finally saw the light and wanted to upgrade).
Actually maybe minnucims... if he still has the LGT? I know he's down in CT...
Nope, not me... finally traded in the GT for the WRX two week ago.

Spotted a blue 4th Gen, new looking Invidia catback. 8pm, I-95 eastern CT to about Exit 3 in RI. You were running with a white Nissan. I was in the new WRX, its a woose stock over my stage II 5 th Gen, so no playing around with you. Anyhow, you are one lucky dude for not getting pulled over. I tucked in the right lane, you blew by the rest area where the radar trap was. Cop pulled over the white Nissan ....

Moving on to 6th Subie
1997 OB, 1999 LGT, 2004 Legacy wagon, 07 Outback (still have), 2010 LGT (in cue for trade in), 2015 WRT Limited (arrived at port 10/30, en-route to dealer)
Unmarried AP from the LGT the other weekend. A very sad day. The 5th Gen area of the forum has been fantastic. I'll be around to see how the 5th Gen and owners press on.

Stoptech Slotted Sport Rotors front and rear, $328.94.
Carbotech 1521 Pads front and rear, $271.
Goodridge SS Brake Lines, $114.96.
This is a great setup!
http://www.knsbrakes.com/c/car-items/1381_2012+Subaru+Legacy+Sedan+-+2.5+GT%2C+3.6+R
List approved! Some rotor options for consideration from recommended vendor KNS:
http://www.knsbrakes.com/c/car-items/880_2010+Subaru+Legacy+Sedan+-+2.5+GT%2C+3.6+R//5_Brake+Rotors
So blink options with slotted and function on Centric Premiums.
Pads - you will enjoy the performance of the Carbotec 1512s (bobcats). They cost a little more. If cost is a somewaht consideration, I'd pick Centric premium rotors and the 1512s over bling rotors and different pads.

wicked nice - tune soon?
those cats are HUGE! any thoughts to replace with hiflows?
-
A quick shout out to those in the SF area.

Here are the OBDII sensors my OBDLink MX hands down to latest Torque Pro,
and the sensors I typically log, in case anyone wants to mirror the setup:
Do you know if Subaru extended PIDs are supported?
-
Do you have previous plots on the same dyno to document your gains?
-
Exactly brake, throttle and hold. Unfortunately, rev limiter kicks in at 2500 rpm...so best we can do is 2000 rpm.
Tune that SH@# limiter out!

ECS hooked me up with injectors and also supplied the .28 gap iridium spark plugs I needed . everything else was supplied by raptor .
I was going to ask about that as the plugs as the GT ones are gapped narrower. Any need for a colder plug since your compression is so high?
-
Yes, no hesitation. A very "mater of fact" statement.
-
Bump to the top.
Earlier this week, had a brief discussion with the folks at DxD South Bend Clutch. One of the topics discussed is the clutch damper. He indicated that several manufactures have a damper. He stated that the clutch damper will cause excessive clutch disk wear for cars with increased torque.
Removing the damper is recommended.

so for any of you fifth gen ez36 guys i highly recommend cleaning the throttle body after 30k it makes one hell of a difference !! Spent the better part of the morning at ECS hanging out and getting it cleaned up like new. Problem solved! Happy car Happy life.!
So do you think the stock tune was rich?

I have bilstein with rce black combo....
I've noticed that the wheel gap (top of tire to fender) in the front is more than back.
Back struts were left as is from RCE....did not alter height...didn't know how lol
About 1 finger's worth...i know...very scientific.
Car looks level though...
Anyone experience this?
Or should I take it all apart and reassemble.
