Oh, I see. The two sets of controls do DIFFERENT things for the stereo. I thought it was a case of being duplicated like the shift controls... So, it's a question of what the computer (ECU?) sees and it then sends the control the stereo to "do the right thing"? So, it's NOT (as I thought before) just a straight connection from stereo control to stereo? That makes it much more complicated, IMHO. I've gotten so used to the shifting controls.. Here's a crazy thought: IF they can co-exist, hack out a bit more of the wheel, and put both stereo modules/buttons on the same side.. I know it wouldn't look that great Honestly, if it's a choice of either or, I'm keeping the shifting.. Way too much fun HV

Man, this is great, but.. I do have a question: For the AT, we need to cut/splice 8 separate wires? (4 at the steering wheel, 4 at the Stereo - why at the stereo?) Also, will this REPLACE the shift ability, or will we be able to have one side for shifting, one side for stereo?? I've read through the procedure, but without having it in front of me, it sounds like step 10 says it won't do both (you don't want the car shifting when you want to turn up the volume). Is this an either-or thing, or can we do both? Has anyone DONE both? It sounds like the splicing "takes over" the four wires, meaning you can only have one function.. If that's the case, I'll stick with the shifting.. Thanks, HV

I haven't had much bucking, but if it can make mine feel even teh faster.. :-) Actually, maybe everyone who's qualified for the fix could post their build-time? We bought our Wagon in January '05, haven't checked build-time yet.. Just wondering if we qualify or not.. HV

So how can Cobb do the "Realtime" map? Is it already part of the Subaru system? HV

Ok, I can't get your quotes to quote.. Anyway.. How do we identify our ECM/TCM CIDs? Anyway to do it except at a dealer? I have an LGT 5EAT. Looks like there might be one ECM and two TCM flashes that apply.. Would love to get better shift response, although I doubt it'll do that.. Keeping my fingers crossed that Cobb eventually does a TCM flash. HV HV
