Cincy05LGT's 2005 LGT Build

I've been very happy with it, though I wish I had waited for the 16gxt. The spool is good, and pulls strong nearly to redline, much more area under the curve than the vf40. It is a substantial upgrade in terms of airflow even at stock boost levels. The 8cm turbine housing option also helps reduce the exhaust restriction, so wgdc tables are much different from stock. I would say at minimum your supporting mods would need to be a dw65c fuel pump, aftermarket tmic, and a good etune. -
First, Racecars aren't transformers... Any structure that could be instantly deployed certainly wouldn't be capable of withstanding the ridiculous impact testing required by the FIA. And second, the kind of sensors and computing necessary to detect and activate such a system would be prohibitively bulky. Have you seen the lidar/radar/video/ultrasonic sensor suites fitted to the roofs of DARPA and other fully autonomous vehicles? Not gonna happen, even with F1 money.

I took the car out for a quick spin after work. Not sure if the rear diff is just getting super noisy since the spider gears are shot, or if it's the new trans but I'm hearing a significant amount of gear noise on deceleration compared to the old trans. It would be nice if it's just normal gear noise due to having upgraded mounts, but I'm always paranoid. Guess I'll find out on the first backroads flogging if something is gonna give. -

I acquired an 08 WRX EJ25 shortblock sans pistons in trade for my blown 5mt this weekend. It appears the cylinder bores are unscathed from the ringland failure that took it out of service. I'm planning on splitting the case halves tomorrow with a buddy over a few brews, and then send them out for cleaning to shelve for a future built block. I figure it's probably not a bad idea to do some dimensional preinspection before throwing money away having them cleaned. -

Definitely, when I'm ready to reinstall everything. I'm hoping to clean up some corrosion and repaint the subframe while also replacing oem bushings with poly. -
Damn that's a real bummer. I'd love to own a Locost or FF someday for club racing. That would be a pure, raw racing experience I'm sure.

More than likely it's just an axle seal, right?

Looks like my new diff will be arriving by Greyhound sometime in the next two weeks just in time for warmer weather. Let the wrenching begin! -

Finding a replacement r160 with 4.111 gears and vlsd is becoming more difficult than I thought. I figured there would be a ton available with all the 6speed swaps. The search continues. -
I had to look up who Ronnie Peterson was...

Things are looking up for McLaren for a change. Really hoping to see Alonso back on top this season. I think he has had what it takes to be champ for years and just hasn't had quality equipment beneath him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQPwtU0ngyo

Only the highest quality ester based lubricants for the Subaru this season. This stuff should handle the higher temps incurred during trackdays and autox without losing viscosity. -

Kentucky Speedway website says limited to 70mph behind pace vehicles. That's disappointing. -

Kentucky speedway sounds like a killer time, didn't know they did that. Is it set up with cones like a pseudo autox course or just flat out around the oval? If definitely be down for a relaxing cruise next month one the summer tires are back on. -

Don't most tuners calibrate to e70 for that exact reason? Just curious. -
What's it take besides an SCCA membership to get into working big races? I'd be interested in volunteering sometime.

How's the ride treating you lately? Hopefully the rebuilt motor is still kicking ass. Now that graduation, wedding, honeymoon, and all that stuff is over maybe I can quit blowing you off and actually meet up for a cruise. -

I actually don't have an inch-lb wrench yet! Is there actually a spec for screw type hose clamps? Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk -

Just placed an order with rallysportdirect for the much stronger Mishimoto T-bolt hose clamps to go with the GS TMIC. I have a tendency to over torque hose clamps since I've had charge hoses blow on several occasions. This should be a nice upgrade. I also opted for the Motul 300V 5W-40 after much research, several recommendations, and seeing Blackstone UOA's of others cars that see similar weekend racing usage. Hoping it'll give that extra level of protection against viscosity loss during high oil temperatures. Hoping to find a solution to the grinding sound from the rear end next weekend on my friend's lift. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk -

So I've been getting some hellacious grinding sounds coming from the rear end under heavy throttle. Found this: https://youtu.be/GAJrPoXNAio Either the OEM swaybar or the catback has to go... Both are due for upgrade. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk -

Seats are back in. Not ready for that gutted racecar life just yet. I cut the cargo area side carpets for easy coilover access. Sent from my Pixel 2 using Tapatalk
