  1. i checked sparkplugs.com and also advanceauto.com and both sites list the autolite xp iridium xp5325 with a gap of .44 as a plug for the legacy gt? I dunno what to do at this point. has anyone isntalled this plug in a LGT before? not sure if links will carry through http://www.sparkplugs.com/results_app.asp?productTypeID=1&AAIA=1430733 http://shop.advanceautoparts.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/partlist_Spark-Plug_960_R%7CGRPTUNEAMS___ -Luke
  2. shit. the autolite's are pregapped to .44. how can i check to see if they are for the NA. the girl at autozone asked is it the turbo model and i said yep.. the box says autolite XP Iridium XP5325
  3. i figured they were pregapped but the ngk plugs i pulled out of the car were gapped at about .30. the pregap on the new autolites has got to be like 40+ somewhere. i'll have to recheck what the pregap is. i was using a feeler gauge lol -Luke
  4. HELP QUICK!! i'm only 1hour into the project and i need to know what the plug gap should be. i don't see any gap's mentioned here in this article. i ended up buying the autolite xp iridium plugs.(i would have preferred ngk iridiums but they didn't have em in stock). please help quickly!! my old plugs are out and new plugs are waiting to go in just don't know what to gap them at! thanks guys!!! -Luke
  5. any sound clips? my brother has an 05 wrx and i was thinking about doing this mod on his car without telling him are the exhausts setup the same on the 05 and 08? the closest flange to the muffler is over the axle so i was worried it would just sound like an exhaust leak. thanks for the reply, -Luke
  6. yes there will be other issues, like having to helicoil your head, but haha uhmm little bits of aluminum WILL give you problems in your cylinder. what are your pistons made of? again like i said i'm a new LGT owner but a well versed gear head. I would assume these pistons are aluminum, probably AC8A grade or something? -Luke
  7. lol you really should torque to spec. everything has a spec for a reason and spark plugs are no different. the crush washer on the plugs and the threading on the plugs is designed for a torque spec and you can easily strip those threads. it's pretty common to happen especially if the heads are aluminum. i'm a new LGT owner and haven't done enough research but i would assume the heads are aluminum. which can easily be stripped. and the last thing you want to kick yourself about is filling the cuylinder with aluminum shavings cuz you crossed the threads you'll be happier down the line trust me :-D -Luke
  8. hahah yeah i am young 23, but even i still hear that joke all the time. i was kinda laughing at the tandom joke you both had going on relevent to this thread. so, on a side note, rather than reading all 146 pages (which btw is a crazy accomplishment) lol, how many people have ended up doing this "system" :-P -Luke
  9. lol i still can't believe a spark plug change is 2-3 hours. i'm used to 4 minute spark plug changes on my boosted honda haha. man that bay is so empty :-P again, this is a great thread, i'll be doing my 60K service myself here in about a month after i get some school stuff done -Luke
  10. gotcha. thanks for the tips. this is my DD/business car so i'm trying very hard to resist modifying it but something like the accessport seems like an easy upgrade for a little more pep haha -Luke
  11. I don't see a price for the stage 2 accessport setup on cobbtuning.com. how much does that run -Luke
  12. nice i can't wait for the progress pics! flat cutoff for the win! here's my retro on my civic http://www.lukekailburn.com/media/exterior/hidretro/100_1361.jpg -Luke
  13. ah ok i didn't know if it had a flat or curved shield. good to know -Luke
  14. it looks like your shields are bent. see how it curves down so much rather then being straight across. i've done a hid retro fit before so i'm pretty familiar with most setups but haven't played with the 330 before. what's the shield like in it? -Luke
