Looks good but he needs a grill! And I wish those LED Fogs would fit into our cars.
-
FYI - I keep my cars at least 10 years/100,000 miles. Are you saying the paint on Subaru's ages faster than other vehicles? I expect to incur normal small pock marks from sand, small rocks, etc. as a matter of just driving around.
I would not call Subaru's paint bad or low quality. If you take care of it, it will hold up.
However, if I were to keep my cars as long as you do, I would definitely invest in a clear-bra. I get all of my cars wrapped right away since I can not stand rockchips.......and I lease.....my car will be gone once 3 years is up.

JDM Grill & Morimoto XB LED Fogs installed.

paint needs to be taken care of if its going to stay looking good, get the clear cover installed, im sure that will prevent lots of damage. I thought you were doing that TTG? It looks easy, just more money and my insurance covers repairs. The info is in one of the threads on the original 15 Legacy with a cracked windshield. If i had plenty of extra money, no doubt i would get it and DIM
Yes, the front of my car is all wrapped with Xpel.
I was going to get clearplex for the windshield and decided against it once I was quoted $500 for it. I would rather keep changing the windshield than paying for clearplex which also needs to be replaced every so often.
-
Here in NJ the Subaru dealer charges $675, that's without tax, to replace the windshield and the surrounding moldings. It might be worth it to go through your insurance. I'd much rather pay $500 than close to $800.
Our OEM windshields are made by Carlex.
I called the local shop for a Carlex replacement and they quoted me $518+tax
I am going to hold out until summer to replace it for now.

That really bad it's time to contact your Insurance.

In WA State, they conveniently do not cover windshields
With $500 deductible it makes no sense to involve insurance.
I am keeping this windshield until drivers side is cracked.

Well, at 5K miles...... my already cracked windshield, cracked again from the same spot but lower...... But all caused by rock-chips. I have owned boat load of cars and this has never happened before. T shaped crack was the 1st and now, there is another one on the lower side. So glad, I did not already replace it :-)

Mine cracked at 2500 miles from the passenger side and I am not going to replace it until or if it makes it's way to my driving vision.
As far as the lack of trim, a lot of the new cars don't have it and neither did the previous generation Legacy.

S-hit..... Gotta spend more money on the car now. Thanks Cool!!!!

Smart Service in Shorline / Seattle, WA. I've used them for many years. They also have another shop up north in Everett, WA
They only work on Subaru's, competitive pricing and just bunch of nice guys. They recently did a 30K service on my 2012 3.6R.

They heat up there for sure. I did this on my 2012 and reinstalled them prior to trading it back in. I really don't care too much for the orange up front.
-
Ah good point. I interpreted that as he removed the reflector, but he may have just meant the bulb.
I just took the bulbs off. I might put a smoke colored film over the orange reflectors at one point.

TTG,
Which LED Seller did you use? Ebay or Store Bought?
I bought all of my LEDs from V-Leds. Bit pricey but quality is outstanding. Believe it or not, I transferred all of them from my 2012 Legacy and they are going super strong.

Here are pictures of it at delivery. I told the dealer to only do a safety check and pull the exterior plastic off the car. She is pretty much untouched.
The next day it went through a 12 hr detail.

I really wish Subaru made the C light LED lights brighter on the limited trim (for the 3.6 in my case) so they could be used as DRL only. Looks so much better!

I am with you. I have no I idea why they did not do this. I am hoping that someone will figure out a way the make the existing LEDs much much brighter.

^^^ Agreed. It took a min to disconnect the cable.
Shortly after below picture was taken, I got rid of the orange corner lights as well. No one has them besides cars in N. America.

Well, I started this thread 3 years ago when my Ice Silver Legacy got delivered. 3 years 33K miles later, new 2015 is on the way and it is time for me to say good bye to best Subaru I have owned so far (6th one and counting).
For the last road trip, we took her to Washington's wine country and toured wineries for 3 days. Here are some pictures from the road trip.
My next Legacy (which is white this time) is due to arrive 2nd week of October
On to the pictures…….

This will most likely be my final addition to this thread

I guess the next step is the fog light mod, I saw the 5th gen, I just need to know which wire is the fog light to tab it to an ignition line trace with my multimeter instead of forget to turn it off leaving the car and come back with a dead battery.
Keep us posted please. There really isn't a good way of doing it on 5th gens. Mine are tabed into the parking lights directly. This is how many others have done it as well.
-
Awesome Sir! I think I am going to do this before the car even leaves the dealer
Now all we need to figure out is how to run the fogs without the headlights.
-
Latest addition which impressed me quite a bit.....

I miss my old car…..wonder where it is now.
I had custom painted OEM mud flaps. To me it is all about the little things. I left them on the car when I traded it in.
