Yea I don't want any additional foreground lighting. I just want a nice straight beam across the foreground. I know with a flat shield this is next to impossible but I'd like to get it as flat as I can so we will see how it goes.

Hey to Underpowerd or anyone else. Could you possibly get me a picture the face of the RX330 non-AFS shield or the MDX Shield? I noticed that the top of the opening has a bowl U shape to it and I want to replicate that into my LGT shield to get a flatter cutoff at the ground. I really just need a picture that I can play with and blow up as a template for what there is. I was an idiot when I did my retro and threw all the shield out that came with my RX setup.

Easiest route is NON-Afs RX330's. They're a direct bolt on with the use of the Legacy shield. MiniSTI asked for my set of Non-AFS RX330's but if he doesn't want them I'll sell them to you. They have replica TSX clear lenses and they look amazing. Let me know. I'm retroing something else right now.

Just got my AFS RX330's. Man these things look nice. I think this beam pattern is gonna be wide as hell. Hopefully my E30 lenses come tonight as well as my extra ballast and bulb for testing. Custom shields here I come.

When I do the retro I'll let you know. I do know however that one of the bowls has the top mounting location broken and JB welded together. It works just fine as the JB weld is heat resistant and it's more of something you can only see when you're looking at the projector. It has no effect on output. I'll keep you posted.

Yea My RX330 Non-AFS setup has that as well and it annoys me. I would just make a new shield but I like a challenge so I'm gonna make a custom AFS shield and figure out how to mount them into my housing. I also Wanna pickup some LED lights to mount in the headlight. Anyone have any leads to those flexible LED strips? I tried searching around HIDPlanet but found nothing. This is for sure the last retro I do in my Legacy. I like the output of the Non-AFS but think I can really get it perfect with the AFS.

I picked up a set of AFS's. I'm gonna run them with a custom shield and cram 'em in there. Also picking up a set of E30 lenses. Will post pics. Gonna do the retro weekend of xmas hopefully.

what do you think about the AFS version of the RX330 versus the non AFS? Is it worth the switch?

Hey Mini. Is it even possible to cram a TL projector in our headlights? I'm looking at either the TL or the RX330 AFS to play around with. I don't need the BiXenon function but really like the low beams of the TL.

Hey MiniSTiGuy. I was thinking of taking my lights apart again and playing with the cutoff shield. I have an extra set of shields for the legacy and think I'm gonna play around with making a curved shield out of them. What do you think about that? Will it flatten out the beam pattern when facing a wall? I'm just sick of it trailing off due to the flat shield and I have some ideas that I think will work. I also want to trim the foreground limiter to get more of an Acura TL type limit pattern. Let me know what you think and any other suggestions. I'm currently running RX330 non AFS model.

I've been in contact with HKC-Speed and he's keeping his eye out for a used set for me. I'm not spending the amount on Japanparts for those. No way! haha.

to retro. I like the non AFS but the cutoff at the sides just isn't what I want. I'm also ordering a set of JDM housings to put this all in.

I tried making some but they turned out like shite. I just stuck with the flat ones and am sourcing some RX330 AFS as we speak.

They're as level as they get. The flat shield will make them curve like that. The last picture though my driveway is on an angle.

I rather enjoy the rarity of seeing one of our own. It's fun to see if the driver is paying as much attention as I am and I always try to give a nod or a wave. I noticed the other day a blue legacy 2.5i driving around my town that had some cutie driving it. I gotta try and meet her. do you think hitting her will get her attention? haha. Maybe just a love tap next time I see her.

I traded trunk-lids with someone on this board from somewhere northwest of Chicago. Took forever to get there, it was raining. but it was totally worth it cause I am not a fan of that stock wing at all.

Oh year you meant front lip. No I have the rear lip spoiler. We should still hit up a couple RBS front lips soon. Maybe when the weather gets nicer.

I got in on the RavSpec Group Buy the last time. I got the Carbon Fiber Lip. This thing looks great on an OBP. I tell you what, next time there's a meet I'll hit it up.

No one ever sees me. I bet though if you saw me you'd think I was some lame ass 2.5i. If you do happen to see me driving around though my 2008 OBP 3.0R has an STi lip, 18" 5 spoke rims. RX330 HID retro. And it's got 2 extra cylinders and a kick ass suspension so don't mess! haha. It could also be that I live on the south side and only work up by O'Hare.

Compare the above pics with my original setup with all the light escaping the sides of the projectors. To me it's night and day but you be the judge.

So Here's some pics of my current setup. I'm very pleased with it. The camera sucks as you can tell but with enclosing the housings There's no glare to be seen as you can see. If I get access to a better camera I'll get some better pics but until then you guys will just have to be mad about these crap ones. Once again this is to show there is no glare.
