Just because I didn't see it on this forum, but he also goes by "Upstateclipse" (check his photobucket account)... looks like he goes through a bunch of different forums (BMW's, Honda's, another Subaru ( Subaru Legacy International... not sure if someone on here posted the same thing over there)... people need to pay him a visit... total bullshit! So the car was vt-registered? or wasn't? Thats kinda confusing... and I kinda agree... I see a bunch of '10+ legacies everyday, but I dunno if any are 2.5gt's... might have seen a couple here and there... prolly spotted you every now and then... you completely stock? if so that's prolly why I never noticed... I'm stock looking so I never get spotted ... Sleeper status

X2... I have a Spec B with stock suspension and it sits too damn high! was going to ask if just putting in springs on my stock struts would work ok... I did that with my old M3 but wanna hear other peoples happy/horror stories before I do it to my subi.

Most of the vinyl i've been looking at is on Gregory1.com here's one example http://store.gregory1.com/vdetail.aspx?2F000020010 Oracle 651 I believe this is non air released... but they state it's used for exterior graphics... it's also available 48" wide X 50 yards long... in a variety of colors... for $215ish... and i think it's free shipping too. that's enough for 2 full cars with mess-ups too (if i'm not mistaken) I also talked with one of their sales guys who gave me info... not sure if it was that exact one... they sell both 3M and Oracle Vinyl... for decent pricing too... and you can get a bunch of various colors... there's so many types of vinyl... happy hunting everybody.

I agree with everything but the last sentence... the non air release vinyl is used for large graphics on the sides of vehicles, walls, windows, etc etc etc... I think they're really meant for flat surfaces though... but even still a lot of them are capable of complex bends... however I doubt anyone in their right mind would wanna wrap something complex with it (say a whole car for example)... good thing my mind isn't right I'll def have to try a sample of it though first... however I think I found my 4x4 rig so i might buy that instead of vinyl. goin stage 2 didn't help pay for vinyl either haha

that $500ish was also for 50yards of it... so essentially if you know someone who wants the same vinyl wrap color (matte black or whatever) you could split the cost and it'd be pretty cheap (assuming you don't need more then 75ft of it)... however that is a quote i got for non-air released kind. Arctec34, You never said how much you actually used. how much did you use not including mess-ups? did you use anything underneath to position the vinyl? when I did stripes on my old GTI, we used windex or 401 or something.

There are so many freak'n Vinyl's out there... Jeesh! I've found the vinyl I want to use but it's not the air release kind of vinyl... and i've heard that can be a real PITA when applying to large area's (such as the doors)... i dont see a problem with the hood/trunk/roof/quarter panels... those are pretty straight forward... the bumpers are going to suck though... oh well... also i'll have enough extra to do a second car if i don't screw up a lot (which I suspect I will because it isn't the air release kind). I think i'm going to order the vinyl in 2-3 weeks... then there's a 10day lead time... so next month i'll get it and start the vinyl process... just in time for my birthday (sorta). happy b-day to meeeee

haha all this work makes me think i'm going to need more then a weekend to get it done... with 2-3 people though I think we can make it happen. it'll take a day just to prep the car for vinyl haha

Here's a quick question... How many feet did you use total? and you got 36" wide right?

Inspirational I'm planning on doing mine real soon. not in matte though... Did you prepare your car at all prior to laying the vinyl? wash/wax? no wax prior to install? no wax on the vinyl after (for you) because it's Matte? what about glossy? wax ok? or no? if you (or anyone viewing this thread) knows any of those answers, please post! Also I heard if you remove vinyl when it's cold, it'll rip up clear coat and possibly paint... thats one fear holding me back a bit. but I definitely like the idea of added protection against chips/tire chunks

Spotted monday: LOTS of Subaru's when I went to Moe's to grab some dinner. younger man (28?) in an Outback sitting out front... looked like he was wait'n for someone. maybe for starbucks next door? I dunno. waiting at the light I spotted a black impreza wagon with tint spotted a blue WRX on RT7 with mass plates and a ski rack. spotted a blue wrx with a load of kids driving towards williston. etc etc etc... I know I saw more. Red LGT drives by me in the AM on the way to work, down Monkon rd. usually we pass in Hinesburg... not sure if your on here (looked to be an older gent.)

back on topic (Sorta)... has anyone done this on a 2.5I and had it sound good? i'm looking for the bubble sound (unequal headers)... this won't do it though will it? i've been looking for unequal headers for 2 weeks... no real Answer on the forum as to what headers i can fit on my '05 2.5i. :-/

work blocks the pictures, but if that is the dark blue lgt (same color as mine) with rims, then that is Dave. He's pretty cool....not on here though Edit: he's look'n to sell those rims... i think he wanted $800 but i'm not really sure.. maybe less even...

Spotted NYtoVT today... i was in my gti and you were pulling onto rt.... 15? the road that goes up to 289 or you can go straight to the 5corners. I was on my way to go look at my new car :-P

Cougar FTW (sometimes ha) Spotted a bunch of subaru's this weekend, in the Kingston/Exeter/Epping area. my buddy was driving my legacy, i was in a Uhaul with my new toy strapped on the back. a few of them I saw I believe are on here.

I deem you in charge of the info adding! Blasted past a white legacy wagon this morning on 89 on my way to work... it was like he never saw a legacy sedan go fast before? (Not that fast *wink*)

Either Friday or Saturday spotted a black 2.5gt pulling out of the best buy plaza in Williston...heading for the highway i presume... trunk was debadged... looked good... I was in the dirty i... The kid in the pass seat definitely saw me... I nodded then sunday I parked next to a silver spec B at bestbuy... and while i was sitting there, saw another 2.5i leaving the lot over near applebees (i dont think they're on here though). spotted some wrx's as well.. but none that stood out

Since this is wheel weights... what is the rim weight of a stock 16" rim on the 2.5i's?? I'm just curious how much more my new rims weight in comparision.

I should trade my car in for one of those Also spotted a White 2.5i with NY plates up on I89N... you turned off to head up 2a towards UVM... I wish my car was as clean as yours was... mine almost passes for white ... damn salt!
