I'll join, Where is the suby cruise going to be?
-
Just remember the Eibach springs will look higher in the front with Bilsteins as they were designed to be used with the stock KYB struts. A better option would be the Koni struts.
Cheers!
+1 , my exact sentiments.
-
True , all Sedan springs will work with the wagon but few are designed for the heavier Butt the wagon has. Swift makes wagon specific springs as does ION and I'm sure others do as well.
-
Same thing happened to me when I went higher sidewall tires. Unfortunately as the tires wear out the ride quality goes down a bit again.
-
Let me clarify, I ran the 225/45/18 with both my suspension setups. First with stock struts and Swift springs then with ION springs and Koni dampers. You should be fine with that tire size with both stock suspension and lowered as well .
Did you run the 225/45 on specB rims with your stock suspension or only with your Swift and/or Ion aftermarket springs? Are you saying that I should be ok with the Eibachs or are you saying that I should be ok with 225/45/18 on my stock suspension? I know the specB owners often upsize but I thought that was because they had different springs. Thanks,
Hanslo

You wont have a problem , I run 225/45/18 on the first generation Spec B rim without any problems. Currently dropped on ION springs. I did have a minor rubbing issue with the fender after the stock struts wore out when I had the lowly Swift springs (over 2" drop) but only on steep inclines and the wagon loaded. Never had any rubbing with the bottom spring perch

A rear bar and springs will keep you happy for awhile . A good compromise between decent handling and ride quality
-
And they will sit slightly lower. I do not recommend The Koni's with ultra low springs like swifts . They should work well with Eibach's , Rallitek and ION.
-
With the change in USDM vs JDM tophats there won't be a difference in suspension travel just a slight difference in ride height. My Koni/ION spring combo sit fairly level but I also Have the wagon specific springs in HD which sit a bit higher in the rear. Even with that I feel the rear could still be slightly higher so I will likely order the shims in the near future.

Leo, PM me I'm nearby. I'd like to see your ride and trade notes.
-
In South Fla we are spread apart and to my knowledge haven't had a meet yet.
-
I'm trying to organize a central/South Fla one likely an autocross in Sebring or Palm Beach . Maybe July or august as it would be too difficult to do one this month. Those interested please say so and chime in.

Idaho's roads are far from perfect, I hope I made the right choice with the Rallitek springs and Koni's.
You made the right call going with Rallitek springs. I would imagine they would be punishing with Swifts or Cobbs (ask underdog). With Rallitek or IONS they are acceptably firm.

Leo, I told you I was away this weekend and couldn't make the Sebring event. You should come on down to where the real competition is . We'll make it up there one day. Tons of Subies in Soflo including the Pastelito boys and TAV boys. They run very fast WRX's and STI. The lone exception is myself and Fernely (who dominates DS class in his spec B).
Last night on speed channel Tanner Foust got handled at Willow springs going head to head against a harmon automotive time attack STI. Tanner got beat riding an Aston Martin DB9 and a Viper.

Alright, who pulled up in a slammed garnet red Sedan on University DR near 595 this weekend. Looked mean. Unfortunately i was in my wifes CX-7 and decided not to roll the window down and yell hello.
For you South fla members, We will be getting together soon . Maybe do an Autocross .
-
SVDX , you are the guru.
-
I know the pitch stopmount is for the wrx and STI . I believe white line makes a version as does Agency power. Question is ,does the Legacy GT/Spec B use the same one as the WRX/STI?
-
Koni's and Ions replacing Swifts and stockers today and tomorrow. I'll document the ride height change
-
Don't get Swifts if you don't want a big drop ( they go a bit over 2" lower on the fronts) . My 18" tires rub quite a bit with the swifts. Switching over to IONS and koni's in a few days .
-
I had a 97 LGT that had Headgaket problems as well.
-
No worries, they always have loaner helmets at events. I'm a reg and don't have a helmet
-
Inico what year is your ride?
-
I'm in, lets do it at a central venue and not too far North. Maybe we can meet for an autocross at Sebring or track day at the newly redesigned Palm Beach motor speed way (several coming up in the coming months)
-
Thanks Leo, question- PDX website says says you can't run any other maps (other than cobbs) I would have to give up my TDC map I presume.
lowering springs recommendations/suggestions please
