  1. I've lived in NYC, Chicago, Miami, and Central Florida and have been wanting to go out West for the past 4-5 years now. It's so damn expensive out there you can make $40k out there and be poor, it blows my mind. Just want to live somewhere with hills, curvy roads, and canyons :(

You should try Hawaii , Lots of curvey roads, beautiful scenery but the highest cost of living anywhere . I miss the days I had money to play and mod my ride back min Fla. I don't miss the traffic, anger and road rage though.

  2. I 95 def raises your blood pressure . I can't believe how people drive here in Soflo. It feels like you are under attack all then time. Its the ol, too many rats in a cage. I've been visiting this past week and remember when I was a part of this craziness with my modified Wagon. Living in Hawaii has mellowed me out . It has been great for my sanity . Peeps drive very mellow over there . I once saw a left hand turn signal go green and nobody honked their horn (considered very rude to do) at the guy looking at his phone. You would have been shot in Miami .
  3. In the Miami area there are a couple of Guys that do Mostly WRX's and STI's but they are very good. Rodrigo is one of the guys there and they are called WRXperts. Thev are very reasonable to Subie repair (did my brother 05 WRX's Timing and water pump for $ 800). They are also known for tweaking Subies . Rodrigo has a stock Turbo'ed STI that runs on E-85 and runs in the high 11's . They are getting famous for their tunes . Here is a link to them https://www.facebook.com/WRXperts/info
  4. If I remember right, I had DBA rotors switched to Centric premiums with HP+ pads as well and motul fluid, braided lines. No rotor cracks of any kind, just a bit of (well actually alot of) brake dust. I had stoptech pads on the rears and they scored the rotors but the fronts with the wilwoods on HP+ were fine. I would have liked a bit more agressive pad but overall quite pleased with the outcome. For autocross and street I really liked Porterfield R4S pads on the LGT, which is what I currently run on my rides .
  5. The pad coverage is a bit less indeed but it won't affect performance (negatively) . It was a minor concern of mine when I put them on. The change in brake feel and response makes it way worth it. I had a pretty intense track day before I sold my ride and they held up great,

My concern with this upgrade after seeing the photos-I haven't purchased anything as of yet myself so I haven't actually done any test fitting-is that the pad coverage on the actual rotor braking surface seems to be substantially less than the stock LGT calipers/pads. It looks like it (WW caliper and pads) only covers about the outer 2/3 of the rotor's friction surface. Is it me not seeing correctly or is that actually how they fit onto the stock rotors?

    Thanks.

  6. Checking in from Fort Lauderdale, usually travelling all over the damn place, new to the forum, legacies, and florida. would love to meet up people from south florida and get to know the speed shops and people to go to for parts and such...

Welcome. You are in my ol stomping grounds (Ft Laudy) . Wales garage near Ft Laudy airport is a good place to take your ride. Ben is the shop owners son and runs the show. He's a full Subie enthusiast.

  7. I really like the porterfileld R4S pads , They are better than the hawk HP's by a considerable margin . They held up fine in a track session I had (No fade). You really don't need too aggressive pads for autocross. For tracks that really challenge your brakes its better to have street pads and swap in dedicated track pads.
  8. Too bad I don't live in SoFlo anymore. Thats my hometown (Ft Laudy) and the meet would have been minutes by my old pad. Up to near 75 Subie enthusiasts. Pretty good numbers even though they will be primarily STI's and REX's . I miss my LGT wagon too. Can't complain I have a Forester with offroad capabilities in Hawaii. Did some offroading yesterday and surprised some Hawaiian locals . Still miss that LGT Turbo punch and handling .
