So I've had this Wilwood kit for a couple of year, and it does work great. However, I have a problem and I'm not exactly sure how to solve it. Heat! I've got the Willwood kit up front and Legacy GT brakes in the rear. I drive the car pretty hard at the track. I've been running in the advanced group and the last set of front rotors only lasted 4 days on the track. There is no issue with the rear setup. I just put a new set on and did track sessions and micro cracks were starting to form. I'm running Hawk DTC 60 pads and DBA Rotors. I also have RooDucts cooling ducts (photos of that setup earlier in this thread). I'm looking for what I can change? I almost think it's the reduced contact patch this caliper has on the rotor makes the rotor really heat up super hot and when it cools the cracks start. Do I get a bigger BBK like Stop Tech, or is it just the combination of pads / rotors? I attached a picture of one of my front rotors after 4 track days (approx 7 hours on track)

They guy that makes the ducts says they work great just pointing at the rotors. He told me to just cut holes in the back plate and sent me an example photo. So I cut holes in the same areas of the photo he sent me. The blanks are available at the dealer for $40 each. I have also submitted a query on junkyarddog.com to see if any junk yards have any cheaper.

Ok as promised here is a pick of the Rooduct I installed. I took out my foglights and ran the hose from there. On the passenger side it was a straight shot. On the drivers side I had to route the hose around the windshield washer fluid tank. I hope that doesn't affect the performance too much. The only problem is that the tires rub on the duct when the wheel is turned 100%. I need the wheel to stop about 1/4 turn earlier on the steering wheel. The guy that sells them said they are not supposed to run, but I have 245's on there, and stock is 225's. I plan to get some OEM fog light blanks to put in there for a stock look. http://dalenet.com/rooduct.jpg

Yes. The wilwoods use stock size rotors so wheel diameter wont be an issue. Its the spoke clearance that is problem since wilwoods are wider.

I don't know about the 05 LGT wheels. Like I said they do fit 05-07 OBXT but not 08-09 OBXT. I think there is a pic earlier in this thread that shows the fit on the 5 spoke LGT and it shows it just barely clears. If you're wheels are that style then it will probably work. The OBXT wheels that clear are a similar style as well. One way to get an idea is see how much clearance your wheel has with the stock caliper. If it's fairly close to the wheel then forget it. If you've got an inch or so of clearance then you have a chance. Remember those Wilwoods have pistons on the outside where the stock caliper does not.

The 08-09 OBXT wheels don't even come close to clearing the Wilwoods. The 05-07 barely clear. I bought some '04 STI BBS wheels off Nasioc for daily driving. I also got a set of Rotas for track use.

I Know they will fit under 05-07 OBXT, but not 08-09 OBXT (learned that the hard way). Not sure about Legacy wheels.

Ok I got the brake ducts ordered. They should be here on Thursday. Plan to install this weekend. I got under the car and looked around and decided the fog light route won't work so well in my car. I already scoped out the hose route and it should work good and not be very noticeable.

So I've been running these Wilwoods at the track for a few track days (I think like 8). They will start to fade if you're going fast enough and they get really hot. My rotors always get micro cracks and I'm running DBA 4000 rotors. In the back I just have LGT calipers. I've ben using Hawk DTC-60 pads at the track and they work pretty good. The next thing I'm going to get is a set of brake ducts: http://rooducts.randyzimmer.com/?page_id=34 I plan to take out my fog lights and let the holes be the route to the ducts. If all works out right I should be able to put the fog lights back in between track days, or I might just leave it like that full time, depends on how it looks.

Price $1000, Local Pickup preferred. (I might drive a hour or so to deliver, like Baltimore for example) I've got a practically new set of Rota Torque Wheels 17x8 +48. Mounted with Hankook Ventus V12 245/45-17 tires. I bought these wheels and tires to use at the track, but it never did happen, and they are just sitting in my garage. I used these for only 1 week on my car when I first bought them in the spring. I would use them as summer wheels, but the tires are the wrong diameter for my car and it causes my speedo to be off (I have an Outback XT). I can bring these out to the Monday Meet in Kingstowne.
