  1. Alright, well there's good news and bad news -

Good news is the legacy was still there

Bad news is it was completely gutted - and i mean brutally gutted. I would have taken a pic if i had my phone. it looks like someone was after the ECU/ wiring harness and took anything that had a plug on the end both inside the car and in the engine bay. (so no part number on that harness ya'll were looking for)

The other good news for me was that i snooped around in the trunk of the car (something i didn't do the first time and found....the radio!) :lol:dirt cheap too....however, I'm planning on doing the Impreza iPod mod with it rather then the aux-in.

  2. I paid about 40 shipped for it but here it is new guys. I am not sure if it will have everything but I wouldnt be suprised knowing subaru.

If you had this cubby pocket, your Aux Unit 86257xa10a part plugs right into it. So if you ordered this and it didnt have the aux in part you would need the previous mentioned 86257xa10a

Now to find the wiring that goes from this to the Radio. The guy I got this from is going to go back to the wrecked car and try to pull the harness for me.

Rusty on the back of the AUX in module it has a white connecor with 5 pins 5 wires. The wires out of it run down to another white connector that has 7 pins in a 22 pin connector. 2 of the wires out of the aux look like they are spliced with tape around them and go to the 12v accessory plug. The same color wires also run to the 22 pin connector.

    Here is a pic

    92174AG05A $30.77 $22.52

Console - Center console - Pocket

    Pocket - 2007 2007

I'm the guy that pulled this out of the 2.5i limited - there are 3 part numbers for what he has -

    92174ag05a (just the pocket)

81870ag10a (wiring harness from pocket to plug...this is seen in the pictures with the white sticker on it) (labeled adapter cord - sold for about 40 bucks)

    86257xa10a (aux box)

When I did this same mod, I bought these three thinking i would do what you all are trying to do... i didn't end up using the harness, and mounted an ipod with a pro clip to the right of my radio - (didn't want the aux-in to be in the console after all) Now i have a switch that goes between my ipod and an additional aux in the console (in case someone else brings an mp3 player into my car) so i won't be of much help with the other harness (plug to radio) until i go back to the wrecked car; hopefully this weekend. (I also decided to just go with the jazzy mod instead of the hugely expensive 07 radio.)...i would have pulled the radio out of this 2.5i limited, but it was already gone:mad:

  3. So i did this mod and it worked great for about a day or two. While driving, i heard kind of a snap from the wheel, and my air bag light went on. Tested audio controls and horn - nothing. I'm guessing that little disc that spins behind the wheel (holds the plugs for the air bag, audio controls, etc) has a fault in it now. Really irritating. Anyone have any suggestions? I don't want to take a road trip this week without an airbag:eek:
  4. hey if anyone needs a lilliput remote, i found one of my old ones from years gone by. I'm not sure if these were specific to particular models, but it's the black remote, white buttons (except red power button) and red 'lilliput' across the top. If you need it, hit me up with an address and i'll drop it in the mail free of charge:)
  5. I am sick to vomiting of using crapass non-visible screens.

    :whore:

Then again, think of all the other uses 700 bucks can bring....maybe one day they'll not be so expensive.

  6. Hey! What's going wrong with it ?

Actually, I'm abandoning the carPC project myself: I've found a way to buy the OEM navi at about 40% discount and I think I'll go that route. :)

The crazy thing is, there's nothing wrong with it. I'm just at a point in life where i need some cash for some other things. I know you never get back what you put into a carputer, but hey, it was great for a few months i had it, and hopefully i'll make someone else's life easier with selling the parts for a good deal.

I did the OEM navi conversion before I started work on my carputer, and to tell you the truth, i didn't like it at all. Subaru's system just looks sooo dated - if i could do it again, i'd just buy the subaru touchscreen and use the Garmin/kenwood brain as was done in this thread:

    http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?t=71423&highlight=navigation

  7. For those of you that were interested, i'm posting a lot of my carputer pieces here, hopefully by the end of the night. Spent my memorial day uninstalling them out of the car :) I'll post a link to the classified thread here when i post it up.
  8. There was a rumor on the mp3 site that the iguidance plugin (the old one as created for IG3) does not work with the new Centrafuse because of the dotnet encoding (2.0 in the new CF). Can anyone confirm ?

Yup - it sure doesn't work.

    Oh, and i didn't father a son...That i know of anyway:lol:

  9. Hey just FYI:

My life decided to move a little faster then i had anticipated so i'll probably be putting my project up for sale within the week. I'll start here and let ya'll have first dibs, then on to ebay. If you're thinking about buying parts, hold off for a few days:)

  10. Very little work is needed to fit a touchscreen in the DD kit - fitment just isn't that great for us LHD folks.

Also, if you have the airbag indicator on your clock, if you disconnect it the airbag warning light pops up. Don't know if that's an issue with the liberty.

  11. Also, you'll probably end up having to cut and mod that to fit your screen so you might as well save your money and do a little bit more cutting on your factory cubby.

I'm pretty sure burger has a RHD vehicle (which that kit drops into w/o problems) as he said he has a MY07 liberty.

  12. Alright, located my problem. The two USB cables i had strung underneath the driver's seat had gotten pinched inroute, and were shorting sometimes during motion. The short would cause the MB to go into immediate protection mode, as well as the M3.

That's not a bad price on the EBY701 if it's shipped...I like the 701 compared to the 619 and 629 as the 701 has auto on, and the others require solider-on modifications.

Also, the M1 won't fit in the case:

    M1 Dimmensions: 6.31" x 1.77"

    Original psu: 3.93" x .98"

Now i'm just waiting for the final release of Centrafuse 2.0 to be released...i love this setup:D

  13. What are you using for your 12V source? What about your ground?

12 is an 8awg directly from the battery, ground is 8awg to a drilled and sanded bolt underneath the rear seat.

So i took everything apart (no fun) and checked all my power wires, ground, etc. It all looked good for the most part. As it turns out, the problem was solved when i unpluged my USB hub. I wonder if i'm over drawing on my 5v line because of all the usb devices i've got pluged in...

The PX board might only require 13 watts or so, but that's on the 12+ rail. If the hard drive is also on the 5v rail, i can easily see there being an overload because the M3 only provides a max of 6 amps on the 5+ line giving somewhere in the neighborhood of 30 watts. Here's all the usb devices: All of the onboard usb spaces are filled, and one has a 4 port non-powered hub for the mouse, touchscreen and wifi.

    Bluetooth

    GPS

    dvd-RW

    802.11g Wifi

    Wireless laptop mouse

    Touch screen

I'm going to try a different hub, and plugging things in one at a time to see if i can find the cluprit.

  14. The M3 will regulate voltages as low as 6 volts for a little while, but not more then a minute. I'm pretty sure that with only the carputer on this power line there deff. wouldn't be a reason for the voltage to drop to less then 12. I'm thinking i've got a soldier somewhere that isn't making a complete connection because it's only doing then when i'm driving - if i start the car and idle in one place it stays on.
  15. Alright - i'm nearly complete with my install - only a little bit of trouble shooting to go (i'll get to that)

First, the case: Something inportant to mention: The M3-ATX doesn't really fit in the case anymore that i re-installed the USB/audio card on the front. It's probably better that it's out of the case too for ventiliation purposes.

    And the cable adapters:

    http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd71/alaskajoel/DSC07400.jpg

This was the original PSU that i ripped out:

    http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd71/alaskajoel/DSC07401.jpg

The space it's all getting shoved in:

    http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd71/alaskajoel/DSC07402.jpg

    Xp Loaded:

    Centrafuse RC2 Loading:

    Centrafuse RC2 Loaded:

    http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd71/alaskajoel/DSC07411.jpg

    The End Result?

    http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd71/alaskajoel/DSC07427.jpg

Alright, now for the problem solving. Someone needs to correct me if i'm wrong, because i may not entirely understand the M3-ATX power supply. The computer loads perfect, hybernates great, and resumes great almost every time. The problem is after Centrafuse is loaded and i'm playing music or something usually within 10-15 minutes, everything dies. The power supply just gives up, and i'm left with a blank screen. So i'll pull over, turn off the engine, wait a minute, turn the engine back on, and it'll boot again. It'll run fine for another 10-15 min or so, and then die again. Kinda weird, but i guess that's the nature of carputers.

I ripped everything apart again to make sure there's not a heat problem, and with it being a cool 60 degrees in my car, it still does it. The M3 says it's 120 watts, but i'm only using the 20 pin atx connector - not the sata, hard driver, or other connectors. Would this be overloading it if i only use that one plug? I'm going to try and unplug all of my other devices tommorow as this didn't happen until i put everything together for the final time (meaning i finally pluged in my dvd-rw, bluetooth, wireless mouse, wi-fi card, etc) I'm guessing i just overloaded it, but i really don't have a clue.

Other then that, it's great! If ya'll have any bright ideas, i'm all ears :D

(i guess the only other problem is i may be getting engaged by the end of the summer and need some extra coin...when that happens, MR. carputer is the first to get sold)

  16. AHH

There was one more thing i was going to say about the PX10000 board:

It's ridiculously picky about memory, especially if you're going to get a 1gb stick. It uses laptop memory (200pin) and it MUST be low density. That means 64mb x 16 chips NOT 128mb x 8 chips (which a lot are) Just be careful, and if you're not sure, buy this stuff - it's cheap and is proven to work well:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/SAMSUNG-1GB-DDR2-533MHz-PC4200-200-Pin-SODIMM-Pico-ITX_W0QQitemZ140230025033QQihZ004QQcategoryZ158897QQrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp1638Q2em118Q2el1247

  17. so is Centrafuse RC2 worth the upgrade ?

definitely - RC 1 was so buggy, i ended up going back to 1.47 but RC2 has been running like a champ - i love it.

As for speed, it's still only a 1ghz processor, but with a gig of ddr533 it holds out really nice - i wouldn't use less then that if you're going to run SD or CF - maybe frodoplayer or RR, but with as cheap memory is these days, it's not worth it. I've had iguidance up, playing mp3s and i'll get a phone call and there's no lag at all. Really impressive for such a small package.

One other thing - i was originally going to put the Artigo setup in the glove box pocket but a few things stopped me:

I didn't want to open the glove box and see all my usb cables hanging out everywhere - it needed to look OEM or be hidden.

The pocket would need to either be cut or removed completely to string cables in your console. Removing the pocket left dead space that you could see around into the dash pretty easily - it also made the Heater blower louder when it was on (i thought it looked tacky) (BTW, if you decide to cut your pocket, and want another to go back to stock or incase you mess up, The king of parts sells them for $14 bucks  and the part number is 66128AG02A)

Also, the artigo case will NOT sit side by side a 5.25" laptop DVD drive in the pocket without modification! It will either have to sit on top, or you'll have to flip the artigo case so that it's in length wise.
