That is what I have setup. Exactly the same as the videos but with a HTC EVO3D. I love it. Its so nice to actually have google maps in my dash. My only beef with it is that it doesn't have Sirius support. Granted I could use the Sirius App, but that app has always sucked.

 

As for the ARLiberator app, every day it gets better. The developer is constantly improving it and in the last month it has improved leaps and bounds. You can pretty much count on an update once a week.

I just put together something similar with a nexus7

 

I ended picking up one of these so I didn't have to hack apart the stock bezel. This bezel had lots of room for the tablet so I had to make a brace to hold the tablet in place

New versions of ECU Flash that you can download do not work with Vag-Com. Must have 1.29e. Last known version to work. Tactrix writes the software folks. They wrote in hooks to stop Vag-Com from working on purpose. Must use the old software to get it to work. We supply the old software with the cables we sell.

So are there any disadvantages to going with the vag-com cable vs. a tactrix if you have an 05? I'm confused on why some 05 people still use the $160 cable when this one looks like it works fine. Also, what do you sell them for m sprank? I didn't see them on your website.

I recognized this this morning on subaru.com/ipod - Pretty neat! I'm curious and hesitant at the same time for this - i love navigating my ipod touch (big screen and i have a pro clip for it) and i don't really want that functionality to be taken away if i plug it into my radio. (there is no way the radio's navigation will be as nice as the touch) you don't happen to know if this is the case do you? (disabled music navigation from the ipod touch when connected to the subaru radio?)

If this is the case i'll probably buy a satelite tuner and go through the heck you guys are to rig up the aux-in. I loved XM back in the day when it was cheaper...haven't used it in years.

As for taking the center console apart, i've gotten good at it and it takes me 20 min tops. If someone around me wants to give me half an hour with their car i'll get the part number from that harness and we'll be set.
