Ok, if there is space I may ask to catch a ride (can take the conversation to texting). I was leaning towards this option if possible
@jaylew I'll give you a ride no problem, we might end up going a little slower than last year since I do not want to push the engine too hard - it was pushing coolant last year when we were going 85 mph on the highway.
Just need to work out the logistics of meeting somewhere.
@boxkita I believe we brought the Aligash last year, will keep this in mind... I also need to bring that JDM mirror for @KZJonny, along with some bumper clips etc.

back to the regularly scheduled meet conversation... @SubOperator when do you plan on heading out for the trip?
Our plan is to head out on Thursday and start back Sunday. Will be in 2 cars as last year - BRZ and LGT. Let me know what your thoughts are.

@KZJonny That is on my radar. My current top options are
This manual X5 cause its cool and can tow 6k lb (though im not a fan of crossover/suv's)
An 08/09 outback in manual is also on the table cause I have so many spares from the GT that its "easy" to get running.
An E91 manual awd bmw wagon. I am familiar with that platform and could be good
I am considering an AWD toyota siena just to keep things odd as that could be a solid winter skiing car
I have seen a 2014 outback with the 6 speed, but I am totally unfamiliar with that FA engine platform and reliability.
BMWs should be plenty around Boston... As for Sienna keep in mind that last generation's AWD is electric motor in the rear that's only active up to 30mph.

I've still got it, what might you need?
The rails that connect the seat assembly to the car body. Mine got rusty after contact with the salt after all these winters. These do not look easy to separate and perhaps proper way is to replace the whole seat base.
Also, I do not know if you want to take the seat apart. If you have buyer for the whole seat I'll look elsewhere. I am not in a hurry, so if you want to consider just selling the seat base let me know.
Just in case it is power seat which I believe all GTs came with anyway.

Brian,
is the driver seat still there? I may need some parts from it. Sorry to be late for this.

Okay, I will bite, but I need to ask the stupid question.
Are those high or low beam?
And can they be used in a normal USDM housing? I will grudgingly admit the OE headlights are only okay.... I really do not want to go to HID's but will consider it as an option.
OR: PM me and let me know about your experience with the full LED conversion. I would much rather go that route, but my limited experience using LED bulbs in the USM housings (Good quality bulbs....) was less then awesome, so I'm at a loss about what the next move should be.
These ballasts are low beams but they won't work with USDM headlights housing. On JDM headlights they are located inside the housing itself and are sealed from elements, plus there is a mounting location there for them, and sealed access cover. On USDM housing none of that exists.
I did use LED bulbs for years and have had good experience with them. Probably between OEM halogen and OEM HIDs. Full LED conversion of course is better but also much more work.

Yeah dude!
I am much more a fan of pre-facelift look than post, but that looks slick.Wouldn't turn that down... at all.
Hoping we get to see it in all it'd glory at this year's ECM?
@Enlight is bringing me some JDM bumpers, so maybe you can apply your skills and we can do the swap at the house one afternoon?
I hope to be there and sure, we can spend some time and put those JDM bumpers on... I will grab some plastic fasteners and tools. Are you doing pre-facelift JDM swap?

Try LKQ. In case you’re not familiar, they are a nationwide auto recycler. I work at a body shop, and we get parts from them daily. With the number of these cars sold, I’m sure there’s plenty of them out there.
Exactly, these mats are all the same for Legacy wagons and Outbacks 05-09. Some local junkyard may have some.

Took it for spirited drive to pick up takeout. God this car drives so well, any thoughts of selling it literally fly out of the window.
My son picked the HVAC actuators from the dealer. If I end up taking the dash out, will also try to apply some sound insulation whenever I'll be able to reach.

Same problem for me: barely any heat on passenger side and backflushing did not fix it. I think that's the video I saw a while back.
yeap, this exactly how I did it on our Tribeca, and for the same reason - no heat on passenger side. I was a little nervous about leaks but this far (knocking on the wood) it's been fine.

What is the HVAC unit?
It is the whole box under the dash, here shown as 72110. Includes the case, all actuators with all related parts, and heater core If this were the only thing my wagon needed I might have dropped $500+ on it but I have rear brake lines, fuel tank and new SB sometime in the future.
3 full units for 2005 were available on East Coast yesterday per my parts guys.

I might finally fix the rear hatch defroster now that the spring is here.
Oh yes, ordered 4 HVAC actuators for my 2005 LGT with auto climate. The complete HVAC unit (06A) was more than $500 so decided against that.

Power steering seals i2.5. Local Subie Dealer parts guy gave me the output U shaped gasket and not the input O-ring that I asked for. He couldn't even produce a complete diagram of the pump at the counter. So will attempt to find the correct 34488B O-ring at a parts store and not waste time at dealer, unless with 16 years it would be prudent to replace the other gasket since I already have it in hand. I like to support locals, but it is hard when the counter guy can't locate and identify the correct part, and I can find it on Amazon in a minute, just sayin.
Replaced rear exterior door handles with amazon specials and the driver side broke, even with gentle use, in two weeks. To the U-pull it I go. :-(
I had some good luck picking up O-ring for steering pump at local Toyota dealer. Having old in my had to compare with what they had made it much easier.
My preferred Subaru dealer is about 45 minute drive away but I like to give them business - they know their stuff and we've been with them since 2007.And Amazon/Ebay parts can be hit or miss. Even if they say OEM.

Pulled the engine and tranny from the blue wagon today.
I had to replace the 8-ton long ram hydraulic for my engine picker, the old one wouldn't hold pressure. I learned that HF now has a Pittsburgh hydraulic/air ram that you can hook up to your air compressor and it's amazing. So much easier on the old back to lift
I am still sad about your wagon. One less RBP LGT Wagon in this universe.

Damn, I sure hope so too. Too nice to just parts it out. Looks almost like twin of my RBP. Were those CT plates ?
