  1. Aczwild, first off... awesome right up. Very clear and directional.

Main question I have for you is if you would happen to have a right up for the radio lights? Stock radio I'm talking about on my 95 sub legacy. The radio backlight is out (can't tell time at night...very annoying) and a few of the preset buttons are out also. Any guidance or writeup would be tremendously appreciated! Thanks in advance.

I just pulled my stock head unit out. I may try dissecting it... i'll let you know what I find.

  2. Depends on what they claim. If they put that lil "results not typical, individual results may vary" thing in there, for most stuff they would be ok. It is sad that in the heat of high gas prices people will believe almost anything.

I mean, we still have people that think they can take a pill / cream to enlarge certain parts of their bodies.

But they are talking all "technical" it must be true! Also some shady mechanics (not shade tree) have been doing this for years (headlight fluid, second transmission for reverse.....)

  3. Maybe I have the wrong term, but when I pull up next to a new Porsche Carrera and it has cross-drilled rotors, I find it hard to believe these are such a "no no". Comments?

From what Porsche says, the purpose is wet-weather braking "to dissipate water vapor pressure". That said, perhaps they're worse for heat, but better for water.

P.S. I do appreciate the thread as I've learned a lot from it. Any recommendations on really good brakes that fit in stock wheels?

Porchse rotors are cast like that, not drilled, so there's no extra stress added to the rotor. However, you will still have stress concentrations, but thats just the engineer in me talking.

  4. Suspension; BD/BK's can use any suspension made for a WRX. You need to change the tophats over to the legacy ones, and get suspension off a wrx sedan if you have a sedan or a wrx wagon if you have a wagon. BE/BH's are out of luck unfortunately.

What year WRX wagons do I need to look for - I need new struts all the way around and would like to tighten up the suspension a little (without lowering) (I have a 97 GT Wagon) - please advise and what are some good manufacturers that are decent yet budget friendly?? Thanks

KYB makes some good stuff, find em over on tirerack.

Also wanted to add a triva fact for those with BG N/A Legs. You can use the REAR sway from the turbo'ed leg, the FRONT will not fit due to the turbo model having a diff sub frame. Cusco, whiteline along with Cobb (used to) make swaybar kits for the turbo model. I'll vouch that the REAR fits in no problems on my car (Cusco 3 pos. adjutable)

  5. Well i don't have a OEM compy, but I know i avg 30ish if a drive uber consiverative. If I'm autocrossing / dicking around, that drops to the low 20s. Nothing like fueling up a tank in like say $20-30ish where the H2 at the next pump is taking out a second morgage.
