  1. Convince him to join next year! Also, I think a fun winter meet for us will be to join the 48 Hours of Tristate.
  2. Oh that thought already crossed my mind... I need to cinch my belt hahah. That being said, GLWS. These are rare wheels. I actually drove to Virginia a couple years back to purchase their cousins, the GC-010e's.
  3. I have a Highline Audio Double Din conversion that I will let go for free. It gave up the ghost when it tried to power my Kenwood head unit when the accessory fuse in the engine bay quit. My sense is that the power found an alternate path through the Highline unit in ways it was never intended. Anyone who is familiar with circuitry may find that it's a simple fix. The other, cleaner, route is the EDM Double-din conversion as outlined by @SubOperator is here: Thanks to @finsta for figuring it all out!
  4. Join our East Coast Meet next year, we had a family of 3 come from RI this year.
  5. This is the first time I ventured into the 6th gen forums. Welcome, @silverton. It's nice to have a Subaru tech on board.
  6. It will be great if we get enough kids for them to entertain each other.
  7. I say let's determine a date and get an initial number of confirmed attendees (we had 17 adults this year and can probably expect a few more next year). If we book by December/January we should still be early enough to get our pick of the housing litter. We can rent two houses close to each other if necessary. I'm all for Finger Lakes, a moving target might be figuring out when Drive the Glen does not have a blackout date. I agree that would be a very cool activity for everyone to experience. So far, confirmed attendees look like: @jaylew @KZJonny @m sprank @Enlight Any others I can mark down? Determining the date will facilitate this process. My calendar is wide open right now.
  8. Yup. I ordered a reseal kit since I've read several accounts of aftermarket units leaking immediately after installation. I will report back on how it holds up.
  9. Seeing how used power steering pumps can be bought on eBay for as low as $50 I don't think this will be worth anyone's time or money.
  10. This thread is for documenting whether the power steering pump pressure sensor is serviceable on '05 - '06 Legacys. While removing my power steering pump for an engine rebuild I snapped the bullet connector off of the pressure sensor as well as the connector. When I went through the parts catalog, I saw neither of these parts were available for '05 - '06, though the connector is available for '07 - '09 (P/N 34433AG020). Further, the sensor itself is not available in either of those years, but was (discontinued) available for '02 - '03 WRX's (P/N 34433FE010). While randomly searching for "power steering oil pressure sensor" I came upon a couple that looked like the one I removed. Duralast Power Steering Pressure Switch PS611 (link) Echlin (NAPA) Power Steering Pressure Switch ECH PS315 (link) Standard Power Steering Power Switch PSS27 (link) The first link from AutoZone says that their sensor's thread is M14 x 1.0mm. The thread on my sensor is confirmed to be 1.0mm but I think the diameter is 13mm, but the difference is small enough for me to try. Besides, everything else looks like a dead ringer for the same sensor. You can use 2004 Nissan Sentra as the vehicle to search for this sensor. I'll update this thread in a few weeks to update on results. I figure even sharing an unsuccessful result will be helpful to someone in the same quandary.
  11. Take a breath. This is likely something you can take care of yourself in a weekend. If you're only doing local driving you are probably fine, just check your dipstick after each trip until then and top off as needed. I use @Max Capacity's method: after stopping the car, pull out the dipstick, wipe it down, and lay it across somewhere safe in your engine bay. When you get back to your car, inserting the dipstick will give you a clean reading - just don't forget the dipstick and drive off without re-inserting it. It's a good thing you were vigilant... better than me. @killerbmotorsport mentioned it's almost impossible to insert the dipstick tube correctly without removing it. I wish I knew that the first time I installed an oil pan. Pick up some extra o-rings in the likelihood that you tear some in your attempts.
  12. Mis-installing those o-rings is likely what cost me my short block, be careful. The oil pan/crankcase is pressurized by blowby that will push oil out of the dipstick tube, even more so if your engine is already tired. I know those o-rings are difficult to install... even with the engine on the stand. It took me multiple tries (and trips to the dealer) to install them without tearing. @killerbmotorsport (link) :
  13. I have an Aeromotive A1000 now. I'm basically following the parts list I got received for my estimate from Prime Motoring except doing the work myself.
  14. Removed my VF52 to get ready for the @JmP6889928 treatment. Removing the silicone hoses was very difficult as the worm drive clamps dig into the soft hose. The clamp held on so tight that the worm drives backed themselves out before the clamps loosened. I've ordered some non-stripping/embossed clamps to see whether they will help. Received my new fuel line kit from Torque Solutions as the IAG ones were too stiff and didn't fit the LGT very well due to the location of our throttle body. Where do people mount their FPR's if they have a brake master cylinder brace? @Infosecdad had a very nice DIY bracket at ECM '23.
  15. +1 to @KZJonny. I would, however, like bathroom privileges
  16. That is pretty cool, even with a pace car out front. @boxkita will just have to find a way to hold back somehow.
  17. I'm in too! I second alternating North/South and Inland/Coastal. I'm happy to continue pitching in with planning but I'm happy to play a supporting role so someone else can make their mark. Distance is no matter for me. I would like to make @Max Capacity's attendance a priority.
  18. Some more picture's taken by @JmP6889928 and posted on his behalf.
  19. Well I had a great time meeting everyone and putting faces to names after all these years, at times it felt like I was in the company of giants. I'm too tired to caption each photo, but I will link this post to OP to make it easy to find. Thanks to everyone, near and far (Washington, Ontario, Tennessee, Rhode Island, Michigan, Virginia, W. Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania), who came to attend the event. I can't take sole credit for this event as I just rode on the energy and enthusiasm everyone showed for making this happen. For the people who weren't able to make it this year, @boxkita has already put together a 2024 planning thread so check that out. More pictures to come from @SubOperator!
