  1. Just wanna thank AW4BYT for the harness. It's very high quality (heat shrink, abrasion resistant sleeving, Deutsch connectors, etc.). I couldn't have made something better myself. The roads look so much better compared to the yellowing 15 year old lights I had before. Looking forward to the leveling motor harness.
  2. In addition to the leveling motor AW4BYT will hopefully start selling soon, he also make a harness for the JDM high-beam/low-beam/turn signal (https://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/jdm-usdm-headlight-harness-bl-bp-283236.html). That is what you need unless you want to do the wiring yourself. I would send him a PM to see if he can make more. I am very happy with mine. 3. This is inspiring me to install the Perrin lockdown I already have lying around. Encouraging sign you identified the source, Max.
  4. I'd like to buy one if you have any available ^ (this is leveling motor connector right?). The headlight harness is working great - I just did a track day on Monday 3.5 hours away in upstate New York. No flickering in either direction - thanks man.
  5. I've done the shield flip and am about to undertake the leveler. I'm not very familiar with electrical so I need to ask: is it ok to splice the ignition power, ground, and parking lights into the remote mirror control harness? If so, do I just match the wires, i.e. purple to purple, black to black, green/yellow to green/yellow? Thanks in advance.
  6. 42% according to this website.
  7. Finally cleaned up all the aluminum bits for the next owners. The front control arms look dirty but its actually black overspray from the past. The I've also shown the box I will be shipping it in. Most times people ship these heavy items in a flimsy box that barely survive the trip. I will also be packing it with dense shredded card paper. Any questions let me know!
  8. That's not good, sorry to hear. The statistics on the ventilators is pretty dire. Please make sure you get your vitamin D. 98% of people who die from COVID are severely vitamin D deficient. Not trying to debate correlation and causation, but given it's so cheap and available... 9. Received my Blitzen spoiler today. Won the auction on April 17 and then it was held at the post office in Japan for over a month due to COVID, total wait time about a month and a half.
  10. Finished taking apart a Recaro Style XL Topline I bought on eBay. The seat was in great condition before it shipped but the seller didn't pad it at all, three of the plastic panels and various tabs snapped along the way. Since my previous dash repair turned out pretty well, I got it in my mind that I could try my hand at plastic welding to fix these up. The disassembly took two nights, a lot of learning as I've never dealt much with upholstery before and there was only a little online. These particular seats have dual lumbar air bladders, heating, fans, leg extensions, side bolster, and height adjustment - basically everything I found wanting compared to the OEM seats. The covers are currently in the washing machine now. My cats love the support. If you look at the second to last photo you will see how Recaro went about designing a bolster that circulates air. I will also be replacing both of its fans with Noctua NF-A8's. Last photo was from the auction listing.
  11. Was able to do something similar with locking pliers and flathead. Those things are a PITA!
  12. Defeated by the clamps on the PCV valve. Was only able to get one of them on with my needle nosed pliers. The salt on the wound is that the old PCV was still working fine. Anyone have clic clamp pliers for sale?
  13. That would isolate whether it's a brake or suspension issue.
  14. All this conversation is several magnitudes beyond my understanding, I'm really impressed by how knowledgeable our forum members are and I hope to catch up at some point. I had PM'd Boxkita earlier today and I guess that's what prompted him to start this thread. I had been watching YouTube videos on aerodynamics after listening to a Flatirons tuning podcast on the same subject. In any case, the video I watched that is probably most relevant to this discussion has to do with tools for measuring aerodynamics. The ones that intrigue me the most are the magnehelic gauge (measures pressure differential) and a potentiometer for measure suspension travel (more downforce, more squat). It seems to me that one area of the car that seems like a no-brainer to me is, as mentioned before, the area from the rear axles back (am I wrong?). In any case, between the magnehelic gauge and the potentiometer, either of those tools would quickly move us from theory to reality. I'd be down to invest in these tools once I get a firmer grasp on the subject. And before I forget: [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D00-wglvpK0]What tools do you need to aerodynamically test your car modifications? - YouTube[/ame]
  15. I'm taking credit for all the wisdom Boxkita is going to expound.
  16. That would certainly be easier. My idea probably also means having to run wiring under the carpet... more added work.
  17. I meant to say that this (your) thread is probably the one that addresses the occupancy sensor dilemma the most directly since it targets the occupancy sensor itself. I know some other members have swapped out entire seat bases between model years but that, unfortunately, doesn't work for users that want aftermarket seats. Ok, I think I'm beginning to see now. In any case, I will have to take it apart myself anyway after I receive my new Recaro passenger seat. I will see whether it's possible to retrofit the strains sensors to the new seats. If I get lucky it might just require tapping holes and installing the sensors as you described. An idea I had considered was swapping out the Airbag Control Module located in the dash below the radio from the 05 we have to an 06MY+ one. Changing this module would enable you to use the 06+ bladder style occupancy sensors. From the little research I did, the other airbags (steering wheel, dashboard, side curtain) are the same between 05 and 06+. The differences are the passenger and driver seat airbags and occupancy sensors. If these are the only differences, it might be possible to just swap the Airbag Control Module, the occupancy detector harness, and the seat airbag harnesses. However, I'm not sure whether the 06+ Airbag Control Module can connect to an 05 ECU without issue. Thanks for your reply.
  18. This is the thread for all the 2005 seat swap/passenger occupancy sensor/airbag questions. Jaylew, do you think it's possible to transplant the strain sensors into another seat? From your posts I'm unable to decipher whether they are located under the seat cushions, in the seat cushions, or something else. I interested in getting a matching Recaro for my passenger side.
  19. Haha, welcome to the family! Nice to have a new members these days. If you plan on keeping her for a while I would peruse the Reliability Modifications thread. Sounds like you picked up a nice one.
