  1. MMMmmmmmmmm Kool Aid.

    Funny OT story:

There was a fight on the prison yard where I work. So, as the alarm goes off and the non-involved inmates get prone on the ground, the guards all run toward the fighting inmates. Well, there is this one female officer who is, well, LARGE. Kinda shaped like the cultural icon above. As she is waddle/trotting past the prone inmates, they all start chanting, wait for it.....

    "Hey Kooooolll-Aid!!!!".

She is called that to this day. She also took away the inmates' evening and Saturday yard for it, too:)

    101 left Hogger!!

  2. The Hog evolves...

Didn't see where anyone actually performed the mod this way, but I love the sound now. Rather than removing the gasket all together, I may a surgical incision (more like cut it with a pair of Wiss snips) in the factory gaskets as shouwn below. Cut a straight line at the widest part of the inside of the gasket. This method will help to keep the exhaust flowing directly to the rear and eliminate any possibility of blowing out more of the gasket. The sound is better than the original washer mod (IMO). It sounds more like a performance exhaust thatn a hole in the muffler.

Thats exactly what I did with the boiler gasket material, 'cept it's a little more bell shaped, and about 3/8" thick:)

  3. Pics of your custom gaskets!! Or, at least an explanation...

I took the stock gasket and traced it onto some 1/16" Garlock gasket material. After cutting the duplicate, I then trimmed the bottom of the gasket out. End result is a kinda bell shaped opening.

Put two together per side, and all soot blows toward the rear of the car. An added bonus is that the sound pulses also do not hit the body now, and what droning there was is gone.

I can pull them out and snap pics if you like.

  4. I saw your video and noticed the washers inbetween the pipes. I didn't think that was all that was done to create that nice of a sound. I would highly suggest you spill the beans in text on the first post, outlining exactly what was done. It would save newbs like me many hours of reading through this long thread ;)

Thanks for the tip, I am definitely headed over the Home Depot tomorrow morning!

Reading thru the whole saga is part of the joy:)

Stage 2 custom boiler gasket cutout Hogwawst FTW

  5. Let's see, right now, when exhaust leaves my turbo, it goes thru about 7ft of pinched, crimped, stock pipe. In that pipe are 2 cats, a resonator(i know, it flows straight thru), a super pinched 90deg direction and diameter change at the Ypipe, and then into two restrictive cans, and out into Mother Nature. My two small leaks are probably giving me a little of hp, after that arduous journey.

    204 left, Hogger!!!!!
