yeah, but who wants to live there
Never said I lived there. Most of my driving is done in counties that do indeed have smog checks.
-
Yeah its a little harder than you think to prove residence in those counties, and live somewhere else.
If that is true it's new to me. I used to have cars smogged in South California while they were registered in Northern California.
I just recently moved back to CA after living in Ohio for 5+ years. I went to the DMV and gave them an address that I have no legal ties to(but I can get mail there). Then I gave them my mailing address which is a UPS store 120 miles from the other address, which is the address they put on my license. I did not have to show proof that either of these addresses were mine. They then gave me my old license number. When I bought my FXT in April, I put the non-smog county address on the pink slip, but I used the DMV down the street from my mailing address in a smog county.

How many Cali owners know that if their car is registered in a non-smog county, they do not need to do this every 2 years?

I can't believe this thread is still active! As one of the early adopters, it warms my heart to see Hoggy's redneck innovation going strong.
All hail King Hogmeat!!!

There are no WMD's in Iraq,
Chuck Norris lives in Texas

Ha ha ha .... good thing you ordered those Osrams.
Yeah, it was one of the first times my wife was actually happy that I'd planned ahead and spent money early:lol:
-
^ Not bad at all.
What was the track-record on your stockers, or other replacements?
I de-drl'd early on. Stockers were replaced(working) with the Rallye's @ 21K miles. New Rallyes's in at 64K.
-
2yrs, 1month, 43Kmiles
That's how long the Osram Rallye 65W low beam lasted. Passenger side burned out yesterday.
I'd say I'm happy with that:)

LOL, I have to say, It sounds absolutely awesome, very harsh, but whistling sound is HILARIOUS,
the only good thing about that is driving by a girl cute girl with a skirt, and rev it a lil, so you get the rumble plus the whistle.....hahaha best of both worlds:lol:

So did this fan relay problem ever make noise when the engine was running?
Yes, but harder to diagnose.
It's a recall, no warranty period to worry about.
-
Any of you with Osram Rallys having them 2 years+
Did you notice the light turning yellower ? not that the light output is bad, but compared to my brand new 65W Narvas in the Forester, my 2 y old Osram light output is yellow
By the way, the Narvas do not have that grey painted dome just clear glass
Really hard for me to tell since I'm also running the Tungsram 55w fogs.
-
Can you install a DRL cutout, and then wire a secondary fog relay into the parking light switch on the sterring column?
That might be what you are wanting.
EDIT:
Instead, wire the parking light switch to cutout the DRL and turn on the fogs at the same time. Prolly wouldn't be too difficult a job.

just received the bulbs, they were much smaller than i anticipated . posted some pictures:
Good things come in small packages....
Those are they, and yes, they do just come naked in a cardboard box.

^^Like f1anatic, I have had 65w Rallye's on my LGT for over 2 years as well. I know as soon as I type this it's over, but I've never had a headlight bulb out in the LGT. 61K and going.
-
Any one have this covered under warranty??Yup. All of it. I was within the 3yr/36k so they had to.
Me too, within b2b warranty

Chuck Norris's calendar goes from March 31st to April 2nd. NOBODY fools with Chuck Norris!

imagine if you decided to run muffler deletes after you dropped the washer in, LoL, some one would have a very unpleasant evening trying to figure out how a washer penetrated there bumper, lol:lol:
From experience, the wayward washer is expelled as soon as the engine fires. Damn my fat fingers and mechanic gloves:spin:

spec.B is the only Noun authorized to stand-in for "Chuck Norris" on those facts.
Fail
-
I soaked mine with Liquid Wrench. I then put Vice grips on the top of the bolt and used a socket on the bottom. It broke loose and came of with a little muscle. Make sure you do not drop a washer down into your exhaust or it will get shot back into your muffler. You will have to remove the muffler to get it out.
You'll already have the muffler free to swing out of the way if you do this. Just fire up the car and it will shoot out of the y-pipe. Swing muffler back and install washers again.

If you have 5 dollars, and Chuck Norris has 5 dollars, Chuck Norris has more money then you.
Hey SilverLeg, "It rubs the lotion on it's skin, it does this whenever it is told"

Did we close the Cubbypod down when Jon unloaded his LGT? Hell No!! This mod will outlive all of us. I am just proud that I got in at the beginning......
New CA Smog OBDII Info Thread
in Northern California

I do all of my DMV in a smog county, so they don't even question when it doesn't come up. I think the new laws of no smog for the first 6 years and no smog for transfers of 4 model year old or less have made not having a smog not as suspicous.
