why don't you just try BP/BL Legacy S Techs ?
If there was cross compatibility, it would have been mentioned long ago and if you searched, you would know.
-
I'm still waiting for definitions for the '05 2.5i manual... there's been little movement since Merchgod went to Cobb.
-
MonkeyHermit's vid needs a better annotation - full details are "Ceramic coated Borla UEL headers, RandomTech HFC, extended stock mid & y pipe with inline Magnaflow resonator, Prodrive axlebacks"
-
N.sane,
perhaps flip the order of the first two of my vids. The one in the middle currently has the stock mufflers and no resonator, then the one that is first should show magnaflows with factory resonator followed by the last one with borla replicas and magnaflows...
Shows the progression more I think.
Also, should see about getting this thread stickied.

Lucky you!
Where and do they have more than one set? I'm sure other members here would want to know!
Cheers!
MSI is selling their private label Eibachs - check the GB forum.

do you guys think it'd be a waste of money to get the ion performance front calipers ??
Not a waste... but I would try better pads first. It's a significant difference. Doesn't look any different but noticeably improved braking.
Stainless lines too.
I painted my stock calipers (black) as part of my gripe with my stock brakes was the appearance. So, painting them helped - still not as pretty as a bbk though.

The fronts are the same. rears are different. the line size where it goes into the rear caliper is different. (2.5i has aluminum rear caliper:))
When did the lines change for the rear? Are you sure about this?
I used the Techna-Fit GT 6 line package that I got from RavSpec back in 2007 without any problems on my '05 2.5i.

Thank you very much for the feedback, I really appreciate it.
It sounds like it just is a straight swap from stock to uel? I thought I read that it isnt just a simple swap?
For the Canadian market '05 2.5i, it should definitely be a straight swap with the header you posted. Bolt-on and go :-)
Post a pic of your existing factory header if you need confirmation.

So maybe the FAQ hasn't been updated in a bit, but for the replica headers, what year are we looking for?
Ive seen people mention, but never really confirm that early 2000 WRX headers will work?
In CDN's post a couple years ago, he mentions a couple of sellers, but neither of them have headers anymore.
From what I can tell from the pictures it looks the same as this sellers, but this guys name is ilovetacotaco (what a name)
I'd probly end up going with that one over the other designs, even though its more money, just cause I know that it does work in CDNs setup. Or does the pipeflow design not matter at all (I'd think they would for fitment issues)?
So can any info that could be added to the FAQ, or someone can just let me know?
that looks to be the same header for sure... they were being manufactured overseas and sold by a couple of different vendors. Price is about right. Ship it to a US address and import it yourself to save on the exorbitant freight to Canada.
If you have an '05 as per your mini signature, it'll bolt right up. Possible clearance issue with power steering line as detailed in other posts. You can install it at home yourself but if you notice its contacting, take it to a muffler shop to get it tweaked correctly (and more easily than you could do yourself, unless you have the tools etc).

Sound Deadening FAQ

Thought I would reference sounddeadenershowdown.com here. It's a good read on the how and why of sound deadeners.
I've recently ordered some B-Quiet Ultimate and mass loaded vinyl. The MLV, or similar equivalents like composite products such as Luxury Liner, are what you need to really soundproof your car from road, suspension, or exhaust type noise. That is my primary goal now, to make the car nice and quiet for road trips etc. (in addition to making the stereo sound better).
I'll do the install sometime in May - I'll probably do the doors before then, but I'm planning to do the full floor of the car on the May long weekend.
