How do you like the Yakima hold up? Any significant side to side movements off-road? Have you ever put fairly big rigs on it?
Very happy with it. If you don't have a hitch yet, I'd recommend going 2" over the 1 1/4". The 2" model will just be that more robust. The 1 1/4" Holdup is rated for max 2 bikes, at 60lbs each. I run 3 trays on a custom setup but none of the bikes loaded weigh more than 30 each.
The Yakima racks come with a threaded hitch pin that allows you to cinch down the rack in the receiver - this greatly minimizes any side to side motion.
If you're looking to purchase, I'd recommend a 2013 model over the 2012 as it has added adjustability to offset the two bikes for clearance at handlebar/seat overlap.

^nice ride dude. More info on your rack please? I am planning on getting such a rack very soon. My mpg gets hit hard with my current roof rack set up.
If that's in reference to my pics, Yakima crossbars on EZ Rider mounts (discontinued) and a Yakima Holdup. The pics a few posts earlier included Yakima Boa fork mounts. I don't normally run the fork mounts, opting to run the hitch rack instead most of the time. The fork mounts were just for the show

Yes, you have the headers we believe were only used in early 2005 or late 2004 on some cars, perhaps early rendition of PZEV? There aren't many cars with this setup around afaik and I don't think you can run any of the aftermarket headers out of the box.
The RalliSport piece won't bolt up either.
I'm not sure, but you might be able to run the borla replica header you have plus a 2.5RS catted midpipe, like the Stromung or RalliSport midpipes:
http://rallisportracing.com/images/100_0787.jpg
It would be best to get ahold of someone with the standard '05 catted midpipe to see if it'll work on your car before purchasing one. Not sure what you'd need to do for O2 sensors and the like etc.
No simple solution basically...

Yes my manifolds look exactly like that
hey Dubz,
can you humor us and post pics of the manifold on your car now?
Cool excited to hear itJust realized your vids were the first ones that I watched when I first got my 2.5i. The whole time I thought "They sound good but I wish he did drive by vids".
Yah, will capture some drive-by's next time.
-
You got any exhaust vids?
If you're asking me, N.sane listed 4 vids of my car in the first post of this thread.
I should take a new vid soon now that I have two resonators in the midpipe - removed the original cxlighting bottle style and now have a Vibrant and Magnaflow. Significantly less drone now...

Yes my manifolds look exactly like that
Are you sure?
Did you look at the other link I posted? That 2005 has these headers:
http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=151249&stc=1&thumb=1&d=1368216114
http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=151250&stc=1&thumb=1&d=1368216114
http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=151251&stc=1&thumb=1&d=1368216114
http://legacygt.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=151252&stc=1&thumb=1&d=1368216114
Because the headers I posted above hanging on the wall are mine, off my 2005 2.5i.
And I'm running borla replicas that look just like those in the box:
Here, when I took them off to get them coated after the header wrap started to deteriorate following the loss of my skidplate.

If yours look like pic directly above, then the header you posted in the cardbox box above should fit as a bolt on, no mods needed.
Is that your header that you purchased pictured in the cardbox box above? It's not a WRX header, it's for a 2.5RS, naturally aspirated.

This post has the 'other' 2005 2.5i manifold:

Since Dubz's is an 05 shouldn't Borlas bolt right up?
I have a feeling that Dubz has that bastardized manifold - he needs to post a pic of the OE one on his car now to confirm.
Needs to look like this for the Borla (replica) to bolt up.

Because I'm lowered on Bilsteins/Swifts, not sure how relevant a ground clearance measurement would be in my particular case. Hoping someone has actually tried it.
There's a new under tray available for a good price locally right now and it's why I'm wondering if it may be worth buying it...

I did create a separate thread on the topic (http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/anyone-running-borlas-56410ag06e-engine-coveri-209685.html) but with zero replies, thought perhaps I should ask here, as this thread is tracked/read by most folks who have modified their 2.5i exhausts...
Does anyone here have the 56410AG06E engine cover (LGT undertray) on their N/A legacy with borla headers? Does it clear?

For you guys using the Yakima Q-towers and clips, which clip # are you using?
Yakima's site suggests the 53 up until MY2004 for the sedan, then changes to 78 for '05/'06 - but nothing changed styling-wise between those years, did it?
'05 is when the gen 4 car was introduced, so yes, there was an update over the 2004.

Where can I get a nice rack for my bikes. so expensive
I shop at orsracksdirect.com, they'll price match plus Yakima has factory rebates on now to boot...
-
How confident are people with using the upright racks? I really hate taking the front wheel off but I feel like it's more secure.
If I take a corner hard could the upright bike fly off?
It's a lot more crap up top all the time, I'm concerned with additional wind noise and mpg decrease.
I plan to run a 15 or 20 mm thru axle on my next bike so I don't want to deal with taking the wheel off when I get it.
Thoughts?
Hitch mount. Seriously, I rarely run my bikes on the roof anymore, only when I run out of capacity on the hitch mount.
-
phenolic spacers? I'd like to know too... I have a set but have read that a hard line needs to be bent/extended and would like to have a better understanding of the work required before undertaking the install.

Will the Borla header or the borla replica fit on an 2005 2.5i. Because I heard Subaru changed the design around 2006 or 07

What kind of wheels are these??
Advan RCII (or lookalike)

Hey Legacy wagon peeps!! (with flush rails)
What setup are you guys using?
I recently picked up a set of Yakima Railgrabs (old style) and they just wont secure as tight as I would like. I have heard that the newer style Railgrabs are even worse with fitment, but have seen many people on here with them
Here is what I have...
http://i.ebayimg.com/t/Used-Yakima-Railgrab-Yakima-Roof-Rack-/00/s/MTIwMFgxNjAw/$T2eC16RHJIYE9qUcOQSkBP8h4wGog%21~~60_12.JPG
If I'm not mistaken, those are for raised rails, not flush...
-
Doesn't look like any on the market currently - at least not via cxlighting or GMS (gimmick motorsports)...
-
I had both replaced as makes sense to do it at same time when control arm is off the vehicle. Preventative maintenance if anything. I used Whiteline bits...
-
Just put these on the new 08 LGT Limited gun metal in color but had some naysayers from the local club. What do you think???
You're saying yours are gunmetal and not the chrome and red as shown in the pic? That might be alright but I'm not a fan of the chrome/red... Simply my opinion though

They come with center caps that have the Drag logo on them. I just choose not to run them.
