I get the same exact thing. It does not really bother me, as the car starts right up... but there is a very quick bog that occurs. I think I know the answer to this one.... but how does one properly tune for partial throttle??? Right now, when I am slowly rolling in 2nd gear then start pushing the pedal down slowly.... I get major hesitation, not a smooth acceleration, etc. I am sure this is the toughest to tune, but at this point I am not even close. what causes this hesitation? is it maf calibration, requested AFR for the low RPM / low load condition, TPS tuning?
-
wow high WGDC in the upper RPM range!! mine is around 66 I think
-
ok got it. I assume on the dyno you just hold the throttle at 1 spot the best you can and use live tracing to see what value its using. Then adjust that value until you get the desired result (values summing to zero).

by 'combined they = 0' do they mean: learned = 3% then immed = -3% ?? or do they mean both values should be the same?

Does someone with ST have what they feel is a good intake calibration table for the K&N typhoon? Right now 5.0v = 355 g/s for me and 4.3v = 209 g/s just to give you some points. Edmundu said I should tune my MAF so that my fuel table looks more logical. I am pretty sure my tuner was just going to tweak fuel to get a good AFR, but the MAF should really be tuned so my fuel table makes more sense. Any tips on tuning MAF for a new intake? The idea is to correlate output from the sensor to flowrate as accurately as possible.... but how does one figure this out? I am starting to learn a lot here. This is fun. My next move is a WB. Any suggestions on a WB for ST (I don't need a gauge). *search n00b*

What is turbo dynamics telling me here? As you can tell, this log is not good... taking it easy on the car. I might even go back a map. right-click save-as http://www.casopolis.com/tuning/TUNER_070329171802.csv

wow if you are a n00b than what am I !?!?! All of this is over my head at this point!!!!

Ok guys need some analysis of my logs. This morning it was a little colder and I experienced fuel or boost cut... I don't know. I got 1 pull in fine, but the second pull (hotter run) caused the cut. My last log was from gunning it in 2nd, then shifting into 3rd. I experienced some knock there. right-click save-as First run: Around 4.1k - 5.2k my DA and timing drop about 2 points. http://www.casopolis.com/tuning/032907_3rd_gear.csv Second run: Hit boost cut but no CEL. P0244 is programmed not to show though... http://www.casopolis.com/tuning/032907_3rd_CUT.csv Third 'run': Shifting from second to third gear in this one. Knock was shown once I hit third gear.... http://www.casopolis.com/tuning/302907_2nd_3rd_knock.csv

its free. I have already paid for 2.6 hours + setup and left without what I went in there for. Thus.... they are willing to help me out and finish the tune. Plus, I really could not do it myself. If I was in the car with someone while they were tuning and the guided me.... I could pick up on it quickly. But over the internet here is not the same as face to face.
-
yes I get the vibrations in that RPM range. fun fun. I don't know how much of avcs my tuner plans to touch. It seems he is only going the basics and leaving everything else at COBB OTS defaults.
-
so to the tuning guys.... I have coated headers with integrated uppipe. They are NOT equal length. here is my current avcs. to get better spool, do I concentrate on the entire table, or just a certain region (i.e. lower rpms). Would I increase all the values by a certain %, or decrease? Do I increase an entire column, or row... or both? Some guidance here would be appreciated... just to get me started. I want to have an understanding here of what I am doing. Christian, if you do not want the COBB values posted I can remove this image. I figured with ST being out... this stuff is fairly public at this point. http://www.casopolis.com/images/7f_avcs.jph

sweet yea I just looked at the boost curve. Thanks man.... that is great! It is shifted to the right a bit, probably due to temps, but the slope is about the same (i.e. super fast spool once it starts).

I think the turbo went out on me this morning.... http://www.legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php?p=1073443#post1073443

I'm a n00b. If it was not for Edmund I would have no idea what to do. Plus, the tuner is doing the rest for free. (I paid him for 2.6 hours of his time + hookup fees for yesterday). If I had a WB, I could do it better with some help from others.

well right now I am running the purple boost curve above... I want to get back to the red boost curve

Here are my most recent maps, and my logs from the map. right-click save as www.casopolis.com/tuning/TUNER_070325160709.csv www.casopolis.com/tuning/TUNER_070325160637.csv www.casopolis.com/tuning/pure7d.str www.casopolis.com/tuning/pure2d.stb my boost still takes a while to come on compared to before, and is lower across the board. http://www.casopolis.com/images/EU_ST_revD_boost.jpg

yea once I get back on the dyno and finish up with timing I will. Its capable of a lot.
-
Edmundu HOOKED it up. Hitting boost again and the car is like a rocket-ship. I will do some logs later, but it is running good.
-
Edmundu, I could not thank you enough for your help.
-
thanks I will look into that. Edmund has my map and has the same ST as me... so he is going to make some changes and send it my way. Once I get bast this goofy boost issue, I will go back to the dyno and my tuner can finish the tune... timing, etc.
-
Here are my maps that he left me with. timing was not touched because he could not get me any boost. as soon as he would raise WGDC I would either hit boost cut or fuel cut. P0244 right-click save-as www.casopolis.com/tuning/pure2.stb www.casopolis.com/tuning/pure7.str Log of this map. www.casopolis.com/tuning/TUNER_070324154039.csv Edmundu is going to send me a new map based on the ones above. He said the problem is low WGDC table is higher than the high WGDC table (some of the values at least).

vf40 18G we are done for the day. I will email logs and maps later if people are interested. I know the tuner did not touch turbo dynamics. we loaded teh stage 2 base map and default settings, so that is what it is using as of now.
-
tuner says it hitting lower WGDC than what he is asking for (I believe that is what he said).... he does not understand why the WG cut is ocurring. I guess he does not have this issue with the UTec.... and this is his first time tuning COBB. Any first-steps that we might have missed?
-
edit - not at tuner anymore
-
I lengthened the rod and it ran fine at 16 psi. he tuned fuel... then upped the boost by a little bit and it cut again. I just lengthened the rod more. I will ask him about the targets
