  1. I am about $1000 into the project right now to get to this point. I also put on the new wheels, 18x8, +35 offset, 235/50/18. I am pretty happy about the car so far. I still have to install the following, -Megan solid front LCA bushings -Perrin steering lock down kit -Perrin rear diff lock down kit -Perrin subframe lock down kit -Torque solution drive shaft solid bushing -Primitive Racing caster/camber front strut hats. http://s14.postimg.org/rmv8gen1d/20151024_152921_Richtone_HDR.jpg Sent from my XT1585 using Tapatalk
  2. If you want a mild lift, I think you might be able to get away with getting outback struts and using your stock springs. I believe the outback struts are about 1.5-2 inches longer than the legacy struts. Top hats are exactly the same. You should be able to swap over your stock legacy springs. You will most likely need to get a set of adjustable rear lower control arms to fix the camber in the rear.

  9. Just installed the moog front endlinks. Very High quality part. Everything is oversized compared the the stock endlinks. Also come with zerk fittings on each ball joint. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/10/12/3c0e4c133ded10fb060eadef25847f33.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/10/12/1790fca0e062ddd4366f1caea89f264e.jpg Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  10. Reviving this thread from the dead, I just received the custom trailing arms which i ordered from atomic fabrications. I had them powder coated in cusco blue and they look amazing. I needed the custom trailing arms because the only other aftermarket adjustable trailing arms available for the 5th gen legacy (basically cusco and Megan shown in the pics) all lack the curve of the stock arm. The straight arms will work fine on a stock height/lowered legacy, however, do not clear the rear toe arm when lifted. The atomic fabrications arms are about a half inch longer than stock and can adjust out to 2 inches longer than stock. The arms come pre installed with whiteline bushings. Overall fit and finish are amazing. Very satisfied with the purchase. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/10/08/b638cdc78dec031256e9a880139e7f6c.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/10/08/7be7bcc970f9895d00d2672fad83c40f.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/10/08/bfc540af0f250043d0c69498840c839d.jpghttp://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/10/08/10bb1077d536550182013306bbb91d3f.jpg I also purchased a set of hardened solid rubber bushings for the front control arms. Both of the stock L and R bushings are starting to tear. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/10/08/5b725fdc35d46928cedcd1e1c2951a07.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/10/08/a098ecd531f097c556ac080afaf4bdf5.jpg Also I had to swap out both front and rear endlinks. The stock legacy endlinks are about half inch shorter than the outback endlinks. Got Moog replacement endlinks and they are definitely a quality oem part. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/10/08/023751d5008968f254e8f7a888e85477.jpg I will be installing everything in the next few weeks so stay tuned. 11. I am going to look underneath the car this weekend. I am wondering if there is some preload on the rear sway bar that is causing one side to sit higher than the other. I did go for a test drive after I installed the suspension with the driver side rear endlinks totally loose (forgot to tighten). I am going to disconnect the rear sway bar completely to see if that is causing the problem. Aside from this issue, the car drives and rides great. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  12. Last night, I noticed that the car was slightly leaning towards the driver side. I did some quick measurements and the driver side (both front and rear) are sitting ~0.5 inches lower than the passenger side. I am wondering what is causing this. Is this considered within normal specs? Any ideas? Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  13. Thanks for the info everyone. The outback and legacy subframes are the same, it's the spacers that go between the frame and the subframe that is the difference. Spacing down the legacy subframe will change the geometry between the rear diff and driveshaft. Not sure if it is enough to matter. This is why I think it's wiser to get longer trailing arms vs. Spacing down the subframe. Also, installing new trailing arms is a 15min job. Dropping the subframe....probably a days work. 14. I contacted the shop, they can make me a custom adjustable trailing link in any length. Pretty sweet. I might just get myself a set. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  15. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Subaru-Trailing-Arm-Adjustable-08-14-Impreza-WRX-STi-SPT-Polyurethane-Bushing-/252004303612?hash=item3aaca082fc&vxp=mtr look what i found....this might work.
  16. Thanks for the info brandon, however the trailing arm mounting points are pretty different between the 5th gen legacy and the older subaru models. The trailing arms slot into a hard mount directly onto the rear subframe. Unlike the toe link setup. I looked into the BRZ/FRS trailing arms and while they look similar, i believe the are significantly shorter. I might be wrong though...need to do so more research. As for the caster, I think I am only going to do the AVO bushings. Just to try to bring it back as close to spec as possible. I am definitely planning to get the primative racing skidplates in the future. But need to replenish the "toy funds" first.
  17. Got the alignment. The maxed out camber in the front was one approximately -1.3. Left front with the driver in the car becomes - 1.3. Front caster is out of spec, but this is the expected with the suspension lift. The shop was surprised at how stiff and well dampened the suspension setup was. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/28/cdbe685b86889eff6aeea570783b95d8.jpg In the future, I plan on getting the offset control arm offset bushings to fix the caster issues. I am looking into getting stronger and longer rear swaybar endlinks. I have the thicker sti swaybar installed, the weakest link in the rear is definitely the stock endlinks. Aside from that, car handles great. Since I replaced most of the rear rubber bushings with spherical bearings, I definitely noticed an increase in road noise. But it's not too bad. 18. Mounted the tires. Nice and Meaty. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/28/b8bf92f2dad94e6c6e630916351c8c9e.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/28/f6542b213aff5130fa59c22399c82a3f.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/28/5056f18ecb7e01e3636e184558ef9cbd.jpg http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/28/fd48402eeaa507980206d011910f19d9.jpg Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  19. Since I have an extra set of trailing arms I might play with the idea of making my own urethane offset trailing arm bushing. I think I can squeeze out and additional half an inch length wise with the offset bushing. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  20. Trailing arms for the outback are the same as the gt. The outback got around the problem by have rear spacers that drops the rear subframe back into spec. However, this means you lose some ground clearance from the lift. I could get the outback subframe spacers but I would rather get a longer aftermarket trailing arm. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  21. Just an update, total failure on install the trailing arms... The aftermarket arm lacks the curve of the stock arm....there wasn't enough clearance for the adjustable toe link. I guess I will go without it for now. Need to do some more research. Anyway, some pictures just for fun. http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/08/23/120f388a89f49a85c2b991543bfa4bc9.jpg Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk

  24. I plan on doing a couple of rallycross events in the cny area. Really interested in how the car will handle on the dirt. As for tires, I went with 235/50/18. It's already a good 1.3 inches bigger in diameter. I could probably fit a 235/55/18, however, I don't want to risk it. I can't wait for the winter to come. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
  25. Installed the wheel spacers. Will post an update of the install. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
