  1. Oh yeah, i’ve already learned a lot on here. so far it’s been a near perfect daily driver. excited to see what i can do with it though!
  2. ah yes, lol i shall TRAWL moving forward then haha
  3. Got some goodies today >:) Found out he had new struts put in less than 20k miles ago, so I decided to go with just lowering springs at least for now. Went with the teins because i’m a jdm nerd fanboy lol. I had 15mm spacers on the way too but they sent me the wrong thread size, so i gotta send em back and get new ones.
  4. Apparently the crank no start issue was the entire engine harness plug, the little thing that keeps it locked in place had broken somehow, and i accidentally knocked it loose when I was taking the TMIC off... so i ziptied that back and everything's fine now. The coupler was definitely the problem. I was hitting 16.4lbs and not making the dumb noise! very happy about that, now I get to enjoy my obnoxious bov with peace of mind that my car actually works lol. Thanks for the help guys!
  5. Thanks man, you were definitely right!!! Idk what they were doing, but I have a receipt of a shop having replaced this coupler, so earlier i had just checked the clams to make sure they weren’t loose. This morning I took the TMIC off, and the rubber part was super messed up, I don’t even think it was sealed around the throttle body at all. I took it off and put the intercooler with all the clamps back on. Unfortunately I think the ground to my fuel pump is messed up or something because it’s cranking and not starting now… gonna have to fix that when I get off work.
  6. Just installed my GFB bov today, still getting the whistling noise and it’s still only making around 14lbs. Gotta say i’m a happy man regardless with this bov, it sounds awesome haha. when replacing I checked every vacuum line, every clamp or coupler I could, but it definitely doesn’t seem to be the bov itself. I attached a video that showcases the sound, as soon as it starts to make boost it makes that weird high pitched squeaky noise… I’m also wondering if maybe there’s something screwy with my AP? It’s targeting 16.9, but i’m pretty sure it’s still hitting the stock 14.5lbs or whatever that is. so maybe it’s not a leak, but a map issue? I definitely have the stage 1 93 ROM on it, but i’ll try flashing the stock map back on and see if it makes target boost when it’s stock levels. FullSizeRender.MOV
  7. Mine has been replaced pretty recently by a shop the previous owner took it to, so I'll check but my new BOV comes in today so hopefully that fixes it.
  8. Im in MD, so don’t think it’s sea level lol, gonna take a look at the inlet as well because it seems like that sound is originating from a lower point than the diverter valve. I think it’s the stock inlet so with all its age it could have a leak somewhere.
  9. Today I noticed that my 2011 GT which has the cobb stage 1 map on it is only boosting to 14-15psi, when the target is 16.9. WOT and revving way past peak boost rpms it never even got past 15.2. Also noticed a small whistle/hum coming from the passenger side near the firewall when the turbo spools up, could be a leak? what are the most common leaks for these? i’ve heard bad things about the oem BPV, mine has a lot of miles on it and i was planning on getting a new BOV anyway… any input would help a lot!
  10. Seems like the price of trying to buy new tires to match diameter AND adapters is likely gonna be the same amount of money/more than just getting new wheels... I'll just stay away from staggered in general. Thanks for the help guys!
  11. Hey all, wasn't necessarily looking but I stumbled upon a great deal for some genuine BBS (I think CO's?) They're 19"s and I have to verify the bolt pattern, but I'm almost 100% sure I'm gonna need adapters. Anyway, the tires on them right now are 245/45 fronts and 275/45 rears, I think I'd end up replacing them soon but based on that size even then I'm gonna be at a 245 front vs 265-255 rear as the closest to square I could possibly get, I saw a comment once on how staggered setups can mess with the center diff or something, but I don't know how true that is, I also don't track the car or anything like that. Any input on this would be awesome!
  12. Subaru's tend to be pretty easy in terms of running oem wheels on any car, as long as you get the right diameter you're probably fine. In terms of width and offset, google says you've got 17x7.0", the 5x100 and the 48mm offset. That's basically the spec for almost every 17" Subaru wheel I can think of. In fact I had those exact spec tires on a set of 2007 Forester XT wheels that I had on my WRX. As well with tires, typically the width can be fudged a little bit. I had 225/45 17s on those same wheels I mentioned earlier, which also ran perfect with a slimmer and higher profile tire.
  13. Hey all, my name’s Josh. I’m 19 and have just acquired my 3rd Subie, a 2011 Legacy GT Limited. Graphite Grey on black interior with the carbon trim stuff, 6MT which they all came in I think. It’s really nice, deceptively quick, and way too quiet! That being said I’ve owned it for less than a day, so that can wait. For a little background, my first car was an 04’ 5speed forester, which is what got me into Subarus and modifying them, I lowered it (and now have lifted it) and a few other small things, but mostly saved up to buy my second Subaru, which I bought right after my 18th birthday. My 03’ wrx was my pride and joy until some old lady blew through a stop sign at an intersection on my way to work, luckily nobody was hurt! Since it was deemed her fault, her insurance handed us a check, we bought it back (probably to part it out) and while hunting for a replacement I came upon the Legacy. Too good of a deal to pass up! I have a couple of plans to mod it, it came with an accessport v2 and I already put the stage 1 93 map on it, but my WRX was fully catless with a few other things, so at some point I’d like to at least delete the mufflers, maybe go stage 2 or something. Definitely lowering it and some aesthetic stuff as well. Anyways I’m gonna be trolling the forums around here for info on any 5th gen stuff I can find, thanks for looking!
