NSFW
I'm going to install the adjuster extensions for my Tokico rear shocks in the next few days... I was planning to just cut some short slots in the interior, above the centers of the shocks, about 2/3 of the way up the extensions, but I'm a little worried it's going to look hacky. Has anyone else done this and/or got ideas about how to get a clean-looking installation? Thanks!
praedet
I have seen the small slots cut in the back and it does not look bad. Can you post a pic of what the adjustor for the Tokicos looks like? Especially the end that mates to the top of the shock...
Underdog
They're 6" long, SS braided, and have a small knob at the top. They thread on to the top of the Tokico shocks. I would use velcro or something to keep them from flopping around. Something like this: http://www.ouros.co.uk/image/dproducts/velcro/5.jpg I just added some velcro hooks to my bike pump yesterday so it stays anchored down in the trunk. I was getting sick of it rattling around going over bumps and stuff. The Crimson Dynamo
subaruski
do they have these extenders for Koni inserts also?

I used a drill bit to make a small hole and then just fed the adjuster through. You can do that or just cut a small "X" opening with an exacto knife or tip of a utility blade. http://i23.photobucket.com/albums/b380/TRS60586/Misc%20Legacy/Picture-1.jpg Best price on a pair of them was and still looks to be $23.33 from Mazdatrix.com. Underdog
^ No, Konis have a little blade at the top, and not a hex socket. The Crimson Dynamo
slimjoe
hmmm (goes to check the KW Variant 2s)... Let us (or me!) know if they fit since they'll probably fit the Tarmac 1's then I HATE crawling into the trunk and poking around just to adjust the rear
Gmachine
The " hook " side of Velcro is all you need to keep the adjuster from flopping around. It sticks right to the trunk side lining.
Mindspin311
hmmm (goes to check the KW Variant 2s)... I was just thinking the same thing. Wonder if these will fit my RCE T1's
Guest
^ No, Konis have a little blade at the top, and not a hex socket. Depends on the version. I had ones with hex (allen) socket. That sucked. It was impossible to adjust them in the back of the wagon with the side panels on.
NSFW
I'm guessing the pics above were all from sedans... The wagon is a little different back there. I just Dremeled a hole and fed the extension straight down to the top of the shock. Nothing special but I'm happy with it: http://i193.photobucket.com/albums/z151/Legacy_NSFW/MiscLegacy/RearShockAdjusters.jpg That's the passenger side, front of the car is to the left, rear seat folded down. Looks like I still need to dust off some Dremel shrapnel, too.
praedet
The KWs (So the Tarmac 1s too) are 2 mm allen wrenches Edit: Oh yeah, yours look good
