jp71ss
I am getting ready to put my new engine (2.5) in my 97 gt wagon. It has a 5 speed in it now. I have a 98 outback with all the drivetrain, wiring and etc. that is an automatic. I am considering swapping to the automatic so my wife would be able to drive it too. How difficult would this be and what would have to be used form the 98 outback?
monkeyposeur
It may be less work to teach her how to drive a manual. But since you have everything to swap over you should be good. Devil is in the details.
jp71ss
I was wondering if it made a difference being the 5 speed is 97 and the automatic is 98? Is 97 year specific? Also the drivers side axle in the manual trans is loose and it isn't the axle, it is inside the trans. I don't hear any sounds when I move it but it definitely moves inside the trans.
