Camber issue, 1997 Legacy L wagon.

I installed new struts with LGT springs on my 1997 Legacy L and noticed at the original setting, the front camber was a good +3*, easily seen. I adjusted the bolt as far negative as it could go but it still looked to me like it might not be enough. I took it for an alignment and was told it needed a camber kit, $50 for the kit and $70 for an hour of labor to install it. Now, I've never seen the 'kit' before but I was certain it couldn't be so complicated as to take 30 minutes a wheel. I asked why it would be a labor charge when the bolt would have to be loose to do the alignment anyway and was told that is just how it is. I told them I was sure I could stick a bolt in so to order the kit and I would just install it myself. The service manager and the mechanic that was doing the alignment both said that I would have to install the bolt right or it wouldn't work. I asked them to describe the bolt to me and it sounds much like the set-up the rear of the Escort I have uses to adjust toe. So, I drove the car home and looked up the kit online.

I'm not seeing what is complicated about this. You put the bolt in, install the tab with facing out for more positive and facing in for more negative camber. Besides making sure that notch goes into the strut before you tighten the bolt, am I missing something?

Of course after telling them to order it I find that O'riley can get an Eibach kit for $15 less.
