Tuned/lost ap

My friend just bought an 06 spec b. it's a very nice car, mods are downpipe,cat back,intake and ebcs.the previous owner bought a Cobb ap and flashed the stg 2 tune..when my friend bought the car from him he was not givin the ap because the p/owner lost it.

 

So my ? Is with the car having the stg 2 tune on it already if my friend bought a new ap would he be able to reflash the ecu with his ap? And or if he went to a tuner like efi would there be a problem tuning it considering the previous owner lost the acessport he flashed the stg 2 with?...I don't see there being a problem whatever route my friend takes but just want to double check

You would have to marry the new AP to the car which would automatically over write the pre-exisiting AP "marriage". From there everything will work normally.
