ClimberDHexMods Posted March 13, 2013 Share Posted March 13, 2013 A lot of the old responses to the 5EAT have been thrown out the window now that the aftermarket supports it better (with valve body upgrades, other bolt-ons). Now a 5EAT can be made to shift a lot quicker and handle 350awtq on a stock auto transmission without breaking a sweat. Buy the MT if you're the kind of person who really wants to row gears. But don't feel like you have to get an MT for reliability. The 5MT is known to flat out break on occasion if pushed too hard, as where the 5EAT (with just a couple upgrades) is not breaking down anywhere, and is pretty much abuse-proof even with a LOT more power than stock.
