Also consider the fact that the figures I list are real and not manufacturer figures that are inflated. And the fuel price in the UK is somewhat lower than the fuel price I pay. But I don't know if the road tax plays a role. My road tax is about $400/year. Btw the manufacturer figures are 43US/52UK mpg. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

You have all of these little turbo diesels running around europe getting 50mpg no problem. And when the price of gas there is effectively $8/gal, I think we can safely say fuel economy is a large factor in someone's purchase decision. The numbers speak for themselves.
