Cobb - When Sway bars go bad - x-post

I also posted this in the suspension forum:

With JDMChizad's help, I installed a new set of Cobb sway bars about this time a couple years ago. My 2005 LGT wagon is a daily driver. I don't beat on it and I've never even done so much as a track day. So imagine my surprise when I pulled out of the driveway and heard something dragging underneath the car. I was stunned when I looked under the left front corner and saw the end of my blue sway bar hanging from the end link.

I'm sure there are other examples of Cobb bar failures, but you get the idea. Thankfully I wasn't hammering through some corner going mach 9.

Any suggestions?

I'd be bugged, too, with the failure.
Yeah, not at all happy about the failure. I could (almost) understand it if I was driving the car like I used to drive my old 510. On the plus-side, Cobb has offered me a modest credit ... just not enough to make a serious dent in a new down pipe.

that does suck! did it happen to break where there may have been rust? I was reading a couple threads of the same thing happening on here and on NASIOC and 85% of the time it was due to rust, and the cobb sways not being a solid.. at least they gave you a little bit of a credit on it!

Now that I am able to post photos, you tell me if rust was the problem. The wall thickness looks pretty good to me; maybe that's why Cobb is offering me a credit?
