PeterJMC
You debadged your trunk? Should be good after this. The discoloration between the covered and non covered area is due to the normal paint fade and also embedded debris in the paint over time. You can remove the embedded debris by using a clay bar and this should alleviate most of the ghost you are noticing. 1) First clean whole trunk with normal car wash stuff. 2) Use goo-gone stuff in the area where the badges were to remove tape residue. 3) Clean area again with car wash stuff. 4) Use a clay bar on entire trunk area to remove embedded debris. 5) apply wax/polish as you would normally.
