blue subie
Hey so my timing belt skipped on the 2007 legacy and im pretty sure the valves are done now. I have found a 2008 legacy outback engine. Just wondering which complete engines are a direct swap for me. thanks This is after I did a timing belt change with all new parts. It was running perfect for about 30 miles and then all of a sudden I heard a wierd noise. edit it is a 2007 2.5i

blue subie
sorry it 2.5i. I changed the timing belt, and it was running perfect and then out of nowhere about 30miles down the road i hear a loud noise from the engine which kind of sounded like rod knock. towed the car home and my timing has skipped some teeth. I will ad pictures if that helps. This is when it should be at top dead center. If the valves were not hitting the pistons would it still make that rod knock sound? http://i50.tinypic.com/2ynf8sj.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/33z4582.jpg http://i49.tinypic.com/104gks4.jpg http://i45.tinypic.com/169j82d.jpg http://i47.tinypic.com/2v001fc.jpg
