TexasLegacy2.5GT
I've gone missing from the boards for quite some time. I'm back! Here's the question for my BD BG peeps: I ordered a JDM nose clip and the guy basically received what looks like a BG WAGON that was an L wagon from the looks of the front bumper. My car needs a radiator support that isn't bent all to hell like it is now. From the looks of the JDM nose clip the fans are very different. I've heard Kenny talk about the radiators being different in these cars that make a difference in cooling the motor in the EJ25D and EJ22. ANY AND ALL help on knowledge with this would be accepted. Also, he has a BG rear bumper but I doth know if that will fit my BD's rear end. I got a great deal. Noseclip, fenders(blinkers intact), hood, and rear bumper. 350.00. Sick deal!! Here are some pics: http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Rubenjc111/36A482C8.jpg Interesting looking fans. Mine don't look like these at all. http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Rubenjc111/1864ED3A.jpg http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Rubenjc111/91C09E45.jpg http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Rubenjc111/99740549.jpg http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Rubenjc111/810A0AB3.jpg http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Rubenjc111/7E4256CB.jpg http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Rubenjc111/68849D0E.jpg
Kennyfvholla
That clip is basically made up of some JDM and some JMD/USDM parts. I'll break it down for you. - The grille, non-projector headlights, and blinkers are all early second gen JDM specific. - The fenders, hood, front bumper, fog lights, upper tie bar, bumper support and impact parts, bumper lip, radiator and fans, are all avaliable on USDM cars (which I am about to list). ALL those parts only come grouped like that in the 96 GT (except the hood). The hood was avaliable on 97 - 99 GT's The bumper, impact absorber, and support bar, came on the 96 GT and all 95 to 98 L models. The lip only came on 96 GT's. The fog lights only came on 96 GT's (I helped monkey with this a while back because he was trying to find an applicable wiring harness). The upper tie bar was on all second gens of course.. The radiator and fans only came with 96 to 97 legacy's equipped with an EJ25D. The radiator has a larger internal capacity and the fans seem stronger and larger than the fans that came on all 95 to 99 L models and all 98/99 2.5 models. Kennyfvholla
Oh, and no. The wagon bumper is longer than the sedan bumper. They won't swap out.
TexasLegacy2.5GT
Kenny, brilliant! Here is the trunk that came with that JDM BG WAGON: http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Rubenjc111/FBA75AF1.jpg This is the rear hatch that came with that JDM BG. it says GT on the left side. The front bump looks just like an L wagon.
TexasLegacy2.5GT
What's the deal with the rear wagon bumper vs. The rear BD bumper?
SueBRue
What is that emblem on the grill?
TexasLegacy2.5GT
It's an "L" right-side up and Anotger upside-down. It's VERY cool IMHO
Kennyfvholla
It's the JDM Subaru badge of the time period. And the wagon bumpers are longer and have a different slope along the bottom to the quarter panel.
monkeyposeur
Nice to have you back texas. Oh, and since you can't use that bumper I'll gladly take it off your hands if it helps. That garnish on the rear hatch is also of no use to you. Plus that grill won't look good on your BD, but it would look great on my wagon, lol. As far as the fog lights go, I found a '96 Lsi that had the separate wiring harness in place, but no fog lights installed so apparently they were an option for that model. That is what I yanked out for my L wagon (still need to install those, ha ha). I am also pretty sure that I found one '95 wagon that had a set but that was only one out of many that I have come across. I checked and the fog harness was part of the main harness, not separate, so I know that they were not installed later.
Kennyfvholla
I'm pretty sure that you can use any harness from a 95 to 99 NON-OB legacy.
SCASEYS
L7 grill, nice I donated to LegacyGT.com which allows me to have this nifty signature. If anything SCASEYS posts ever becomes a sticky i'm gonna light this whole place on fire
TexasLegacy2.5GT
Monkey, who in tarnation said that grill wouldn't look good on a my BD?!? Heck, I like that grill even better then the GT-B grill. I'm in the process of making this build happen. Such a fun car!! There was a TON of subaru goodies at this Place: http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Rubenjc111/69487B34.jpg http://i231.photobucket.com/albums/ee134/Rubenjc111/5846B1AB.jpg
monkeyposeur
Yeah, I know. But it never hurts to try. But seriously, what are you going to do with that rear bumper and hatch garnish? My rear bumper repair where I screwed it to the frame and filled the hole is already failing. I've been wondering what happened to you lately! I wish I had a place like that close to me. I would be even poorer than I am now. I need a JDM front bumper so badly lol.

TexasLegacy2.5GT
I have TWO JDM shops here in Dallas right in my backyard. It's so hard to remain practical with all of those toys around....
